Abstract
ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah apakah terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran dan komunikasi matematik siswa, yang belajar matematika dengan teknik problem posing dibandingkan dengan siswa yang belajar dengan konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas V SDN Duren III Kecamatan Klari Kabupaten Karawang Propinsi Jawa Barat pada bulan September sampai dengan November 2013, melibatkan sebanyak 72 siswa. Untuk memperoleh data digunakan instrumen penelitian, yaitu tes kemampuan penalaran matematik siswa dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa, angket siswa terhadap mata pelajaran matematika, obsevasi kegiatan siswa, observasi kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru, dan wawancara untuk tanggapan siswa dan guru. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran dengan teknik problem posing lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran dan kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa. Pembelajaran matematika pada kelompok siswa yang menggunakan teknik problem posing kelas eksperimen, dengan rerata kemampuan penalaran sebesar 12,25 dan rerata kemampua komunikasi sebesar 11,58. Sedangkan pada kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional rerata kemampuan penalaran sebesar 10,36 dan kemampuan komunikasi sebesar 9,94. Selama pembelajaran siswa menunjukan sikap positif terhadap membelajaran matematika dengan teknik problem posing. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka dapat direkomendasikan bahwa pembelajaran matematika dengan teknik problem posing, menjadi alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan di SD, dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran dan komunikasi matematik siswa. Oleh karen itu, kepada guru matematika SD, teknik problem posing dalam pembelajaran matematika hendaknya terus dikembangkan, dan membiasakannya dalam pembelajaran matematika. Kata kunci:Pembelajaran matematika dengan teknik problem posing kemampuan penalaran, dan kemampuan komunikasi ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to analyze the difference of mathematical comprehension and communication skills of the students learning mathematics by means of Problem Posing Technique compared to those learning conventional mathematics. The method used in this research was Quasi Experimental method, with pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted to 72 (seventy two) 5th-grade students of SDN Duren III, Klari, Karawang Regency, West Java Province in September-November 2013. To obtain the data, this research used some instruments, such as students mathematical comprehension and communication skills tests, students questionnaire on Mathematics, observation of students activities, observation of learning activities by the teachers, and interview with students and teachers. The result of the research shows that the learning process by means of problem posing technique is more effective to improve mathematical comprehension and communication skills of the students. Mathematics learning of the students in experiment class using problem posing technique reaches 12,25 for the average of comprehension skill and 11,58 for communication skill. Meanwhile in conventional learning class, the average of comprehension skill is 10,36 and communication skill is 9,94. During learning process, the students showed a positive respond to mathematics learning process by means of problem posing technique. Based on the result of this research, it can be recommended that mathematics learning by means of problem posing can be an alternative learning to be applied in elementary school (SD), in order to improve mathematics comprehension and communicative skills of the students. Therefore, it is recommended to mathematics teachers teaching in elementary school to develop problem posing technique in their teaching and learning process, and to use it in daily learning.
