Abstract
[IND] Fenomena perubahan iklim merupakan salah satu krisis yang sedang dihadapi manusia, namun cara manusia memandang dan menyadari akan fenomena ini dapat bergantung pada cara seseorang merepresentasikannya. Banyak pihak yang turut serta dalam meningkatkan kesadaran akan fenomena ini, salah satunya adalah aktivis peduli lingkungan yang menyalurkan gagasan mereka melalui pidato atau pernyataan resmi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat representasi isu perubahan iklim dalam teks wacana lingkungan pada pidato aktivis remaja. Teks pidato yang digunakan sebagai data adalah pidato yang dipaparkan oleh Greta Thunberg dalam berbagai acara global dari tahun 2018-2020. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis wacana eko-kritis yang dikembangkan oleh Stibbe, yang diawali dengan analisis model-tiga-dimensi Fairclough. Pada bagian dimensi analisis teks, data dianalisis menggunakan linguistik sistemik fungsional sistem transitivitas Halliday. Berdasarkan temuan, representasi perubahan iklim pada sistem transitivitas menunjukkan adanya dominasi klausa pada proses material, krisis perubahan iklim yang disalurkan melalui proses relasional, tingginya klausa afektif pada proses mental, dan rujukan pada pihak tertentu melalui partisipan proses verbal. Dilihat dari representasi tersebut, ideologi dari Greta Thunberg ditemukan berdasarkan analisis pada dimensi praktik wacana dan praktik sosial adalah ideologi radikaslisme (Imaginative Green Radicalism). Selanjutnya menimbang dari standar ekosofi perspektif ekolinguistik Stibbe, ideologi tersebut digolongkan sebagai wacana menguntungkan (beneficial discourse). Wacana jenis ini harus dipromosikan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran manusia terkait masalah ekologi dan penggunaan bahasa dalam merepresentasikan masalah lingkungan, terutama isu perubahan iklim. [ENG] Climate change phenomenon is one of the crises that humankind is facing now, yet how they perceive and aware of this phenomenon could be depending on how someone represent it. Many parties involved in raising the awareness of this phenomenon, one of them is environmental activists who spread their ideas through speeches or official statements. The aim of this research is to see the representation of climate change issues in environmental discourse in youth activist’s speeches. The speech texts used as data are the speeches presented by Greta Thunberg in various global events from 2018-2020. The data were analysed using eco-critical discourse analysis proposed by Stibbe, which began with the analysis of Fairclough's three-dimensional-model in critical discourse analysis. At the first phase of this dimension, the text was analysed using Halliday's transitivity system in systemic linguistic functional. Based on the findings, the representation of climate change from the transitivity system shows that the dominance of clauses lies in the material process, the climate change crisis is narrowed through the relational process, high affective clauses in the mental processes, and references to the certain parties through verbal process participants. Embarking from the representation, Greta Thunberg's ideology was found based on the analysis at the discourse practice and social practice dimensions, namely Imaginative Green Radicalism. Furthermore, considering that ideology from Stibbe’s ecolinguistics perspective, this ideology is classified as a beneficial discourse. This type of discourse must be promoted in the society to increase humankind’s awareness regarding environmental issues and to improve the language use in representing environmental problems, especially climate change issue.
