Abstract

Dewasa ini, kebutuhan guru vokasi di bidang program profesional tinggi, namun disisi lain minat mahasiswa untuk berkarir menjadi guru cenderung rendah yang sejatinya mahasiswa pendidikan vokasi ditujukan untuk berkarir sebagai guru atau tenaga pengajar di SMK. Dari hasil penelitian awal diketahui banyak mahasiswa pendidikan teknik vokasi cenderung berkarir di bidang industri. Maka dalam penelitian ini akan dikaji lebih mendalam pada 176 mahasiswa dari sejumlah 258 mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Elektro Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, untuk menelaah lebih jauh mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa yang akan berkarir di bidang industri, dengan tujuan mengidentifikasi dan mengetahui perilaku sejumlah variabel bebas yang mempengaruhi pilihan minat tersebut. Adapun metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengolahan data regresi linear sederhana dan regresi linear berganda. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa besarnya minat mahasiswa Pendidikan Tekndik Elektro Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia berkarir di bidang industri disebabkan oleh sejumlah faktor yaitu faktor jaminan kerja kemauan, faktor perhatian, faktor ekspektasi, faktor lingkungan keluarga dan faktor lingkungan masyarakat dalam menghadapi kehidupan nyata di masa depan Nowadays, the need for vocational teachers in the field of professional programs is high, but on the other hand, student interest in a career as a teacher tends to be low. From the research results, it is known that many vocational engineering education students tend to have careers in the industrial sector. Then in this study, 176 students from 258 students of Electrical Engineering Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, will study more about the factors that influence student interest in pursuing a career in industry, with the aim of identifying and knowing the behavior of independent variables that influence the choice of interest. The analytical method used is the quantitative approach of simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. From the results of the study, it is known that the interest of students of Electrical Engineering Education at the University of Indonesia Education in a career in the industrial sector is caused by several factors, namely job security factors, attention factors, expectations factors, family environmental factors and community environmental factors in facing real life in the future.
