Abstract

ABSTRAK Raudhia Nur Aribah (1607102). Efektivitas Membaca Senyap Terhadap Penguatan Budaya Literasi Siswa (Studi Deskriptif pada Siswa Kelas XI SMA Negeri 20 Bandung). Skripsi Departemen Kurikulum dan Teknologi Pendidikan, Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (2020). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya penerapan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah sebagai program wajib yang diterapkan pada setiap sekolah. Program tersebut memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan budaya literasi yang ada di sekolah melalui program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Salah satu caranya adalah dengan membaca senyap. Namun dalam penerapan membaca senyap di SMA Negeri 20 Bandung belum diketahui dampak dan pengaruhnya terutama dalam penguatan budaya literasi siswa di sekolah. Hal ini memberikan kesempatan kepada peneliti untuk melakukan penelitian agar mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penerapan membaca senyap dan seberapa efektifnya penerapan membaca senyap terhadap penguatan budaya literasi siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket tertutup dengan teknik simple random sampling sebagai penentuan jumlah responden yang berjumlah 76 peserta didik kelas XI tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel efektivitas membaca senyap terhadap penguatan budaya literasi siswa di SMA Negeri 20 Bandung dikategorikan efektif. Pada pengolahan data menunjukkan sebagian besar penguatan budaya literasi siswa dipengaruhi oleh penerapan program membaca senyap, sedangkan sisanya disebabkan oleh faktor lain. Indikator-indikator yang terdapat pada variabel membaca senyap memberikan rata-rata hasil dengan kategori kuat. Begitu juga dengan indikator-indikator pada variabel budaya literasi siswa yang menunjukkan hasil dengan kategori kuat. Dalam perhitungan korelasi memberikan hasil bahwa efektivitas membaca senyap terhadap penguatan budaya literasi siswa. Budaya literasi menjadi lebih meningkat dan memberikan kualitas yang efektif dan berjalan dengan baik. Dengan meningkatnya efektivitas membaca senyap menjadikan penguatan budaya literasi siswa yang semakin kuat sesuai dengan tujuan sekolah dengan berbasis literasi. Silent Reading Effectiveness on Students’ Literacy Culture Strengthening (Descriptive Study on SMA Negeri 20 Bandung). This research is based on the implementation of the School Literacy Movement as a mandatory program that is applied to every school. The program aims to develop a literacy culture in schools through the School Literacy Movement program, one of which is silent reading. However, in the application of silent reading in SMA Negeri 20 Bandung, the impact and effect is not yet known, especially in strengthening the literacy culture of students in schools. This provides an opportunity for research to be carried out in order to find out how the effect of the application of silent reading and how effective is the application of silent reading on strengthening students' literacy culture. The method used in the research is descriptive quantitative method, data collection using a closed questionnaire with simple random sampling technique to determine the number of respondents totaling 76 students of class XI for the 2019/2020 school year. The results of the study indicate that the variable of the effectiveness of silent reading on strengthening the literacy culture of students at SMA Negeri 20 Bandung is categorized as effective. The data process shows that most of the strengthening of students' literacy culture is influenced by the implementation of the silent reading program, while the rest is caused by others factor. The indicators contained in the silent reading variable provide an average result with a strong category. Likewise, the indicators on the student literacy culture variables showed strong category results. In the calculation of the correlation, the results show that the effectiveness of silent reading on strengthening students' literacy culture is in the medium category. This research proves that with silent reading, the strengthening of the student's literacy culture will increase and provide effective quality that also goes well. With the increase in the effectiveness of silent reading, this makes the objective of strengthening the student literacy culture stronger and in accordance with school goals based on literacy.
