Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi gambaran proses pemaafan pada anak yang ibunya berselingkuh. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah tiga orang berusia 24 tahun, 21 tahun, dan 19 tahun yang memiliki pengalaman ibunya pernah berselingkuh. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam, dan teknik analisis data menggunakan open axial coding. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua informan (AH dan FRO) yang belum dapat memaafkan ibunya dan satu informan (DFD) yang sudah dapat memaafkan ibunya. Informan AH dan FRO belum dapat memaafkan ibunya yang berselingkuh dikarenakan AH dan FRO masih menyimpan emosi negatif berupa perasaan marah, kecewa, dan kesal pada ibunya. AH dan FRO juga memiliki penilaian negatif yang mengakibatkan adanya ketakutan dan kecurigaan bahwa ibunya masih berselingkuh. Emosi negatif dan pemikiran negatif ini muncul dikarenakan tidak adanya pengendalian emosi pada AH dan FRO. Sehingga menyebabkan ruminasi yang terus berlanjut dan menghambat terwujudnya pemaafan. Oleh karena itu, agar pemaafan dapat terwujud maka hal yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan melakukan pengendalian emosi, menumbuhkan empati pada ibu, adanya keinginan pada informan untuk bergerak maju dan kesadaran pentingnya memaafkan ibu yaitu untuk memulihkan kepercayaan dan menumbuhkan kembali keharmonisan hubungan antara informan dengan ibu, yang sebelumnya rusak akibat permasalahan perselingkuhan ibu -------- This study aims to explore the description of the forgiveness process in children whose mothers having an affair. Informants in this study amounted to three people aged 24 years, 21 years, and 19 years who had the experience of her mother having an affair. This study uses a case study design. Data collection techniques were carried out using in-depth interviews, and data analysis techniques used open axial coding. The results of this study are the two informants (AH and FRO) who have not been able to forgive their mothers and one informant (DFD) who have been able to forgive their mothers. The AH and FRO informants still have negative emotions in the form of feelings of anger, disappointment, and annoyance at his mother. AH and FRO also have a judgment that results in fear and suspicion that his mother is still having an affair. Negative emotions and negative thoughts arise due to the lack of emotional control in AH and FRO. Which causes rumination that continues and inhibits the realization of forgiveness. Therefore, Which forgiveness can be realized then things that can be done with emotional control, growing empathy for the mother, the desire for informants to move forward and the awareness of the importance of forgiving mother, namely to restore trust and regain harmony between informants and mothers with problems with the mother's affair.
