Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang preparasi dan uji swelling ratio hidrogel berbahan dasar polivinil alkohol-bioflokulan DYT dan kitosan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu dan pengaruh komposisi preparasi terhadap hidrogel berbahan dasar polivinil alkohol-bioflokulan DYT dan kitosan serta mengetahui karakteristik dari hidrogel tersebut. Ragam hidrogel diperoleh dengan melakukan preparasi variasi perbandingan volume bahan yaitu kitosan dan larutan crosslink dibuat tetap 5 mL, bioflokulan DYT-PVA 0,00 mL ; 2,50 mL ; 5,00 mL ; 7,50 mL ; 10,00 mL. Tahap karakterisasi hidrogel meliputi uji swelling ratio dan uji SEM. Berdasarkan hasil percobaan, swelling ratio meningkat sejalan dengan meningkatnya volume polivinil alkohol pada suhu reaksi 25oC dan 30oC serta uji pengaruh waktu diperoleh loading air pada hidrogel memberikan massa stabil setelah perendaman selama 11 jam. Hasil analisis SEM polivinil alkohol-bioflokulan DYT dan kitosan menunjukan besar pori pada hidrogel larutan polivinil alkoholmyang disintesis pada suhu reaksi 25ºC memiliki besar pori 0,05-1,25 µm, pada suhu reaksi 30ºC memiliki besar pori 0,05-0,65 µm dan besar pori hidrogel polivinil alkohol-bioflokulan DYT dan kitosan sebesar 0,25-0,87 µm. Kata kunci : Hidrogel, Bioflokulan DYT, Kitosan, Polivinil Alkohol, Swelling Ratio Study of preparation and test of swelling ratio hydrogel based polyvinyl alcohol-bioflocculant DYT and chitosan was synthesized. The purposes of this research were to discover the effect of temperature and composition towards hydrogel based polyvinyl alcohol-bioflocculant DYT and chitosan, and to find out its characteristics. Variety of hidrogel obtained from variation preparation of volume ratio between chitosan and crosslink solution (5 ml), bioflocculant DYT ( 0,00 ml; 2,50 ml; 5,00 ml; 7,50 ml; 10,00 ml). Stage of charaterization hydrogel are swelling ratio test and SEM test. Based on experimental result, swelling ratio increases with the increasing volume of polyvinyl alcohol at temperature reaction 25oC and 30oC. The influence of time reaction test obtained from water loading on hydrogel, provide a stable mass after submersion for 11 hours. The result of SEM analysis of polyvinyl alcohol-bioflocculant DYT show large pores in polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel solution synthesized at reaction temperature of 25oC has large 0,05-1,25 µm, the reaction temperature of 30oC has large 0,05-0,65 µm and the pores of polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel-bioflocculant DYT and chitosan by 0,25-0,87 µm.
