Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena menurunnya tingkat profitabilitas pada PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi menurunnya tingkat profitabilitas, salah satunya adalah modal kerja (working capital) PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk yang tidak efesien ditandai dengan pengelolaan net working capital yang terlihat pada rendahnya perputaran aktiva lancar perusahaan . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) memperoleh gambaran working capital PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk 2) memperoleh gambaran tingkat profitabilitas PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk 3) memperoleh gambaran besarnya pengaruh working capital terhadap tingkat profitabilitas pada PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah laporan keuangan PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk tahun 2004-2011. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dan verifikatif, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian time series design. Hasil penelitian menunjukan variabel working capital pengaruhnya sangat rendah terhadap tingkat profitabilitas dan besarnya pengaruh terhadap profitabilitas adalah sebesar 5% sedangkan sisanya 95% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti volume penjualan, total aktiva, modal sendiri dan faktor lainnya yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Walaupun pengaruhnya sangat rendah, namun terbukti working capital berpengaruh negatif terhadap tingkat profitabilitas, artinya apabila working capital meningkat maka tingkat profitabilitas menurun. Sebaliknya apabila working capital menurun maka tingkat profitabilitas pun meningkat. Oleh karena itu penulis menyarankan agar perusahaan memperhatikan dalam penggunaan working capital secara efektif dan efisien agar dapat meningkatkan perolehan laba perusahaan yang berpengaruh baik terhadap profitabilitas PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk. Kata Kunci : Profitabilitas, Working Capital This study examines the phenomenon of declining profitability in PT. Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk. There are several factors that can affect the lower level of profitability, one of which is working capital (working capital) PT. Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk characterized by inefficient of net working capital which looks at a company’s current low assets turnover. This study aimed to 1) obtain a working capital of PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk 2) obtain profitability PT. Adhi Karya (Persero), Tbk 3) obtain a working capital level of influence on the profitability of the PT. Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk. Objects in this study are the financial statements. Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk year 2004-2011. Type of research is descriptive and verification, the method used in this study is a quantitative type of research design time series. The results showed variable working capital is very low impact on the profitability and the magnitude of the effect on profitability is 5% while the remaining 95% is influenced by other factors such as the volume of sales, total assets, capital and other factors not examined in this study. Although the effect is very low, but proven working capital negatively affect profitability, which means that if the working capital increases, the level of profitability declined. Conversely, if working capital decreases the level of profitability increases. Therefore, the authors suggest that companies pay attention to the use of working capital effectively and efficiently in order to increase company profit that affect both the profitability PT.
