Abstract
Perusahaan konsultan SDM global, Tower Watson menyatakan bahwa sekitar 66% karyawan Indonesia ingin pindah ke perusahaan lain dalam dua tahun mendatang. Survei Global Workforce Study mengatakan bahwa peran pemimpin dan manajer sangat mendasar bagi efektivitas pekerja di Indonesia. Survei ini dilakukan terhadap 32 ribu karyawan, termasuk 1.004 karyawan Indonesia. Penelitian lainnya dari Tower Watson 2015 Talent Management and Reward Study mengatakan bahwa 70% perusahaan mengalami kesulitan dalam merekrut dan mempertahankan tenaga kerja yang kompeten. Salah satu contoh perusahaan yang memperhatikan aspek kepuasan pegawai adalah PT. PLN (Persero) dan unit-unit pelayanannya. Sekalipun perusahaan ini memonopoli penyediaan listrik bagi seluruh pelanggan di Indonesia, perusahaan ini tetap memprioritaskan aspek kepuasan pegawai sebagai salah satu komponen perusahaan yang dapat menunjang pencapaian performansi kerja yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh (1) gambaran komunikasi kerja, (2) gambaran kepuasan kerja, (3) gambaran employee engagement, (4) pengaruh komunikasi kerja terhadap employee engagement, (5) pengaruh kepuasan kerja terhadap employee engagement, (6) pengaruh komunikasi kerja dan kepuasan kerja terhadap employee engagement. Metode yang digunakan adalah explanatory survey dengan teknik sampel yaitu simple random sampling dengan menggunakan sampling jenuh yang berjumlah 63 responden. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda dengan alat bantu software komputer Statistical Product for Service Solutions (SPSS) for windows. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan perusahaan dapat meningkatkan komunikasi antara atasan dan bawahan agar bawahan merasa nyaman dan memiliki sense of belonging terhadap perusahaan. Dalam segi pay disarankan perusahaan lebih memperhatikan insentif terhadap hasil pekerjaan yang sudah tercapai. Dalam meningkatkan skor employee engagement dalam aspek absorption, sebaiknya diberikan motivasi untuk lebih menyukai pekerjaannya dan perusahaan harus jeli untuk melihat keahlian dan minat karyawan. Perusahaan perlu memperhatikan fasilitas yang dapat menunjang pekerjaan, seperti kesempatan peningkatan karier, jumlah tunjangan, beban pekerjaan, karena employee engagement dapat tercipta dari kepuasan karyawan.---- Global HR consulting firm, Tower Watson stated that approximately 66% of Indonesia working force would like to move to another company within two years upcoming. A survey of the Global Workforce Study says that the role of leaders and managers is very fundamental to the effectiveness of workers in Indonesia. The survey was conducted against 32 thousand employees, including 1,004 Indonesian working forces. Other research from Tower Watson in 2015 Talent Management and Rewards Study says that 70% of companies experiencing difficulties in recruiting and retaining a competent workforce. One example of a company that pays attention to aspects of employee satisfaction is PT. PLN (Persero) and its distribution units. Though the company monopolized the supply of electricity to all customers in Indonesia, the company continues to prioritize the aspects of employee satisfaction as one of the component companies that can support the achievement of a good working performance. This research aims to obtain (1) description of the communications work, (2) the description of job satisfaction, (3) the description of employee engagement, (4) the influence of communication work against employee engagement, (5) the influence of job satisfaction towards employee engagement, (6) communication of the work and influence of job satisfaction towards employee engagement. The method used is explanatory survey with a sample, which is a simple random sampling technique, which uses saturation sampling totaling 63 respondents. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regressions with computer software tools for Statistical Product Service Solutions (SPSS) for windows. Based on the results of this research, suggested the company may improve communication between superiors and subordinates so that subordinates feel comfortable and have a sense of belonging to the company. In terms of pay recommended the company gave more attention to the incentives towards job results already achieved. In improving employee engagement scores in the aspect of absorption, should be given more motivation to love his job and the company must be observant to notice the expertise and interests of employees. Companies need to facilitate career enhancement opportunities, such as, the number of allowances, as well as working load, it is to say that employee engagement can be created from the satisfaction of employees.
