Abstract

Pendekatan pembelajaran yang berpusat kepada siswa adalah salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan belajar mandiri siswa dan aktivitas siswa ketika belajar di kelas. Metode competitive based learning adalah metode yang mengarahkan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan pendekatan student center dimana proses pembelajaran siswa diselenggarakan dalam bentuk kompetisi antar individu atau antar kelompok. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran competitive based learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian terdiri dari dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, pre test dan post test dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa pada masing-masing siklus. Peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa dari siklus I ke II sebesar 17,1. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pada aktivitas siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 15,5%. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan metode competitive based learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sistem dan instalasi tata udara.------------ A student-centered learning approach is one way to improve students' self-learning abilities and student activities while studying in the classroom. Methods of competitive based learning is a method that directs student learning activities with student center approach where the student learning process is implemented in the form of competition between individuals or between groups. The purpose of this study is to know the view of student student through the application of competitive learning learning method. The research method used is classroom action research. The study consisted of two cycles. Data collection techniques used are documentation, pre test and post test and observation sheet. The results showed an increase in the average in student scores on each cycle. The average increase of student grade from cycle I to II is 17,1. The results also showed an increase in student activity from cycle I to cycle II of 15.5%. The conclusion of this research is the application of competitive-based learning method can improve student study result and student learning activities on system subjects and air conditioning installation.
