Abstract
Buku teks merupakan salah satu jenis bahan ajar yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kualitas pembelajaran. Fakta di lapangan banyak ditemukan permasalahan terkait isi buku teks. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelayakan buku teks kimia SMA/MA kelas XII yang sebagian besar digunakan di Kota Bandung, pada materi benzena dan turunannya berdasarkan kriteria tahap seleksi dari 4S TMD. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian evaluatif dan metode analisis konten. Terdapat tiga kriteria pada tahap seleksi. Berdasarkan kriteria pertama yaitu kesesuaian dengan tuntutan kurikulum, diketahui bahwa materi benzena dan turunannya pada buku teks tersebut belum sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Kesesuaian dengan tuntutan kurikulum ditinjau dari dua segi, yaitu keluasan materi dan kedalaman konsep. Ditinjau dari segi keluasan materi, terdapat tujuh konsep tuntutan kurikulum yang tidak dimuat oleh materi benzena dan turunannya pada buku teks tersebut sehingga materi kurang luas dan terdapat 16 konsep yang tidak dituntut oleh kurikulum, dimuat oleh materi objek penelitian sehingga materi terlalu luas. Sementara itu, ditinjau berdasarkan segi kedalaman konsep, dari 33 konsep yang dituntut oleh kurikulum, enam konsep dinyatakan kurang dalam, tiga konsep dinyatakan terlalu dalam, dan satu konsep dinyatakan kurang dalam dan terlalu dalam. Selanjutnya berdasarkan kriteria kedua, yakni kebenaran konsep, diketahui bahwa dari 33 konsep tuntutan kurikulum, terdapat tiga konsep pada materi benzena dan turunannya belum benar secara keilmuan. Kriteria yang terakhir adalah penanaman nilai-nilai. Hasil analisisnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua nilai yaitu menghargai prestasi dan rasa ingin tahu, yang ditanamkan pada materi tersebut.;---Textbook is one kind of teaching materials which is the most influential in determining a quality of teaching. The facts indicate that many problems are discovered to involve the issue of the content of textbooks. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine properness of benzene’s materials and its derivative in high school chemistry textbooks class XII, which is predominantly used by students in Bandung based on criteria of selection process of 4S TMD. The type of research is evaluative research by content analysis method. There are three criteria in the selection process of the 4S TMD. Based on the first criterion, that is conformity with the demands of the curriculum, it is known that benzene’s materials and its derivative in the textbook is not in accordance with the demands of Kurikulum 2013. The conformity with the demands of the curriculum be viewed from two aspects, that is material broadness and concepts depth. In terms of material broadness, there are seven concepts required by the curriculum that are not included in the benzene’s materials and its derivative in the textbook, so that, the material is less broad. In addition, there are 16 concepts that are not required by the curriculum, but included in the benzene’s materials and its derivative in the textbook, so that the material is too broad. Meanwhile, in terms of concepts depth, from 33 concepts demanded by the curriculum, six concepts are less deep, three concepts are too deep, and one concept is stated either less or too profound. Furthermore, based on the second criterion, that is concepts validity, it is known that from 33 concepts required by the curriculum, there are three concepts in the benzene’s materials and its derivative invalid scientifically. The last criterion is inculcation of values. The result of analysis reveals that there are two values namely, appreciating the achievement and curiosity, which are applied in its material.
