Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan struktur materi perkuliahan konsep dasar kimia serta model perkuliahan yang dapat meningkatkan literasi kimia mahasiswa PGSD konsentrasi IPA. Model perkuliahan yang dikembangkan terdiri dari 5 fase dengan 10 tahapan yang dilaksanakan di luar kelas serta dalam kelas dengan lebih menekankan pada penggunaan masalah nyata dan aktual berdasarkan hasil observasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan mixed method research dengan desain exploratory, yang melibatkan 64 mahasiswa PGSD konsentrasi IPA pada salah satu LPTK di Jawa Barat. Program yang dihasilkan mencakup: struktur materi konsep dasar kimia yang diperlukan bagi mahasiswa PGSD, model perkuliahan konsep dasar kimia berbasis masalah yang digunakan untuk membekali literasi kimia calon guru IPA SD, informasi keterlaksanaan perkuliahan konsep dasar kimia berbasis masalah pada mahasiswa PGSD, serta informasi peningkatan literasi kimia mahasiswa PGSD setelah mengikuti perkuliahan konsep dasar kimia berbasis masalah. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa struktur materi konsep dasar kimia yang sesuai bagi mahasiswa PGSD berbasis konteks yang dikemas dalam delapan tema meliputi: air, udara, tanah, pupuk dan pestisida, makanan, obat-obatan, material, serta energi dan minyak bumi. Perkuliahan disusun dengan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah menggunakan berbagai pendekatan dan strategi. Disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan literasi kimia mahasiswa PGSD yang berbeda secara signifikan dan lebih besar jika dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang perkuliahannya secarareguler dengan strategi diskusi, penugasan dan ekspositori. ;---This study aims to produce a problem-based course model for teaching basic concepts of chemistry to develop chemistry literacy among PGSD students in natural science concentration. The course model structure being developed consists of five phases, starting from orientation, student organization, investigation, developing artifacts and exhibits as well as analysis and evaluation in addressing the problem. The method used is a mixed method research with exploratory design, that involved 64 students PGSD in natural science concentration in an LPTK in West Java. The resulting programs include: the material structure of the basic concepts of chemistry needed for PGSD students, problem-based course model in teaching basic concepts of chemistry that is used to develop chemistry literacy among prospective teachers for science in elementary schools, enforceability information of problem-based course model for teaching basic concepts of chemistry to PGSD students, as well as information about the increasing chemistry literacy among PGSD students after following the problem-based course model for teaching basic concepts of chemistry. The result shows that the basic concept of chemical materials for PGSD students have been compiled based on context of a packed eight themes include: water, air, soil, fertilizers and pesticides, food, medicine, materials, and energy and crude oil. Lectures are arranged with a problem-based learning model using a variety of approaches and strategies. It can be concluded that the problem-based learning model can improve the chemistry literacy among PGSD students with significant increase in comparison with students who underwent the conventional model with some strategies of discussion, assignment and expository.
