Abstract
Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Sains Teknologi Masyarakat (STM) terhadap Penguasaan Konsep Sistem Pencernaan dan Kesadaran Siswa Memilih Makanan”.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran STM terhadap penguasaan konsep siswa tentang sistem pencernaan dan kesadaran siswa dalam memilih makanan serta keterkaitan antara penguasaan konsep siswa tentang sistem pencernaan dengan kesadaran siswa dalam memilih makanan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasy experimental dengan desain penelitian Non-rendomezed pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah siswa SMA kelas XI IPA, pengambilan sampel mengunakan teknik convinience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penguasaan konsep tentang sistem pencernaan dan kesadaran memilih makanan siswa yang dalam pembelajarannya menggunakan model STM lebih baik secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang dalam pembelajarannya secara tradisional. Selain itu, dari hasil perhitungan uji korelasi menunjukan korelasi yang lemah, hanya 14% kemampuan penguasaan konsep siswa tentang sistem pencernaan yang menentukan kesadaran siswa memilih makanan sisanya yaitu 86% ditentukan oleh faktor lain. Pembahasan mengaitkan hasil penelitian dengan teori belajar yang mendukung, sehingga dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran dengan model STM berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap penguasaan konsep tentang sistem pencernaan dan kesadaran siswa memilih makanan. The study entitled "The Effect of Science Technology Society (STS) Model towards the Students’ Digestive System Concept Mastery and Awareness of Food Choices" was aimed to assessing the effect of STS modelon students'concept mastery of the digestive system and students’ awareness of food choices, and the relation between students' conceptmastery of the digestive system and students’awareness of food choices. The method employed is Quasy Experimental research design with non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The students of science class XI in secondary school was choosen by cluster random sampling technique. The result of the study showed that the students’ conceptmastery of the digestive system and awareness of food choicesinlearning using STS model are significantly better than intraditional learning. In addition, the result of calculation on the correlation test showed a weak correlation.There was only 14% of the students' awareness of food choices were determined by the students'ability in concept mastery of the digestive system, and the rest, 86% were determined by other factors. The discussion of the research relatesthe result with supporting learning theories. It can be concluded that the model of STS significantly influences the students’ concept mastery of the digestive system and awareness of food choices.
