Abstract

Profitabilitas merupakan ukuran kemampuan suatu perusahaan dalam meningkatkan labanya setiap periode atau untuk mengukur tingkat efisiensi usaha dan keuntungan. Pada penelitian ini rata-rata profitabilitas perusahaan sub sektor kayu dan pengolahan sembilan tahun terakhir mengalami fluktuasi dan cenderung menurun. Rata-rata tingkat profitabilitas yang tercatat negatif pada sub sektor kayu dan pengolahan nasional merupakan cerminan betapa beratnya laju perusahaan-perusahaan di industri tersebut. Ada banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi profitabilitas beberapa diantaranya adalah penggunaan hutang dalam pembelanjaan atau leverage dan perputaran modal kerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh (1) gambaran leverage pada perusahaan sub sektor kayu dan pengolahan yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2005–2013. (2) gambaran perputaran modal kerja pada perusahaan sub sektor kayu dan pengolahan yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2005–2013. (3) gambaran profitabilitas pada perusahaan sub sektor kayu dan pengolahan yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2005–2013. (4) gambaran pengaruh leverage terhadap profitabilitas pada perusahaan sub sektor kayu dan pengolahan yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2005–2013. (5) gambaran pengaruh perputaran modal kerja terhadap profitabilitas pada perusahaan sub sektor kayu dan pengolahan yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2005–2013. Untuk mengukur pengaruh pada penelitian ini maka digunakanlah Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) sebagai rasio dari leverage, Working Capital Turnover (WCT) sebagai rasio dari perputaran modal kerja dan Return On Equity (ROE) sebagai rasio dari profitabilitas. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dan verifikatif dengan desain penelitian time series design. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah regresi linier multiple dengan tingkat signifikansi α = 5 % menggunakan alat bantu program SPSS 21.0 for Windows. Hasil penelitian yang dibuktikan dengan uji F menunjukkan bahwa bahwa model regresi dapat digunakan untuk melihat pengaruh leverage dan perputaran modal kerja terhadap profitabilitas. Adapun pengaruh masing-masing variabel independent dengan hasil uji t adalah leverage berpengaruh negatif terhadap profitabilitas. Artinya semakin tinggi leverage maka akan berpengaruh pada penurunan profitabilitas. Sedangkan perputaran modal kerja tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap profitabilitas. jika terjadi perubahan pada perputaran modal kerja tidak akan berpengaruh pada naik atau turunnya profitabilitas. Kata Kunci : Leverage, Perputaran Modal Kerja dan Profitabilitas Profitability is a measure of the ability of a company to increase its earnings each period or to measure the level of business efficiency and profit. In this study, the average profitability of the company sub-sectors of wood and processing the last nine years has fluctuated, and tended to decrease. The average level of profitability recorded negative on sub-sector wood and processing national is a reflection of how hard the rate of company in the industry. There are many factors that affect the profitability of some of them is the use of debt or leverage expenditures and working capital turnover. The purpose of research are (1) description of leverage on company sub-sectors wood and processing listed on BEI from 2005-2013. (2) description of working capital turnover on company sub-sectors wood and processing listed on BEI from 2005-2013. (3) description of profitability on company sub-sectors wood and processing listed on BEI from 2005-2013. (4) description of leverage effect on profitability in the company sub-sectors of wood and processing listed on BEI from 2005 - 2013. (5) description of working capital turnover effect on profitability in the company sub-sectors of wood and processing listed on BEI from 2005 - 2013. To measure the effects in this study it is used Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) as the ratio of leverage, Working Capital Turnover (WCT) as the ratio of working capital turnover and return on equity (ROE) as the ratio of profitability. This type of research is descriptive and verification with design research time series design. Statistical analysis used multiple linear regression with a significance level α = 5% using the tool SPSS 21.0 for Windows. The results of the study as evidenced by F test showed that that the regression model can be used to see the effect of leverage and working capital turnover on profitability. The effect of each independent variable with the t test results are leverage negative effect on profitability. This means that the higher the leverage it will affect the decrease in profitability. While working capital turnover has no influence on profitability. If there is a change in working capital turnover will not affect the rise or fall in profitability.
