Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari hasil observasi di kelas VII-D SMP Negeri 45 Bandung yang memiliki beberapa permasalahan pada saat pembelajaran. Salah satunya yaitu rendahnya partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran berkelompok, hal ini ditandai dengan sikap siswa yang hanya mau menang sendiri, kurangnya komunikasi yang baik diantara siswa, tidak terbuka, kurang mengakui adanya siswa lain, kurang menghargai dan percaya pada siswa lain. Adanya sikap ini di antara siswa tersebut merupakan salah satu indikator masih lemahnya modal sosial (social capital) siswa. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan pun masih menggunakan model pembelajaran tradisional tanpa adanya pengembangan sikap dan keterampilan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa itu sendiri serta pengembangan dan modifikasi dari setiap kegiatan dan model pembelajaran. Maka, diterapkan model cooperative learning Tipe NHT pada pembelajaran IPS. Pada siklus I dan II sudah ada perubahan walupun dalam nilai kecil dan masih dalam kategori “cukup”, hal ini dikarenakan ketidaknyamanan siswa dalam kelompoknya yang mana didalam kelompok kurang adanya kerjasama dan interaksi dalam kelompok. Pada siklus III ini sudah berada pada kategori “baik”, peningkatan ini cukup signifikan dari siklus sebelumnya. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya perubahan kelompok siswa sesuai dari hasil analisis dan refleksi pada siklus II. Pada siklus IV mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dan di kategorikan “baik”. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu pertama, Dengan diterapkannya model model cooperative learning tipe NHT sebagai upaya meningkatkan social capital siswa sudah berhasil dilaksanakan. Kedua adanya peningkatan social capital siswa yang cukup signifikan. Hal ini terlihat dari keempat indikator social capital yang hampir mencapai kategori “baik” dalam semua aspek. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh dari model cooperative learning tipe NHT dalam pembelajaran IPS sebagai pengembangan dan peningkatan social capital siswa. Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ini adalah agar guru dapat mencoba menggunakan model cooperative learning tipe NHT pada materi pelajaran lain dengan lebih mengembangkan sikap dan karakter siswa. Kata Kunci : Cooperative Learning Tipe Numbered Heads Together, Social Capital This research was done based on the observation result in class of VII-D SMP Negeri 45 Bandung which had some problem in learning. One of it was the lack of students participation when learning in group, this was shown by selfish students behavior, lack of good communication among students, not open in attitude, not wanting to admit other’s existence, not respecting and believing in other students. This behavior among students was one indicator of weak students social capital. The learning method used was still the traditional method without behavior development and skill which should be given to students and development and modification from every activity and learning method. Because of this, cooperative learning model NHT type was implemented in learning IPS. In cycle I and II, there were changes although in a small mark and still in “enough” category, this was caused by students’ discomfort in their group where there were lack of cooperation and interaction in group. In cycle III, it was already in “good” category. This improvement was significant enough from the previous cycle. This was caused by the change of students group based on the analysis and reflection result in cycle II. In cycle IV, there was significant improvement in “good” category. The results obtained are: First, By implementing cooperative learning model NHT type as the effort to improve students’ social capital had been successfully done. Second, significant students social capital improvement. This was seen by four social capital indicators which almost reached “good” category in all aspects. Thus, there is influence from cooperative learning model NHT type in learning IPS as the development and improvement of students social capital. Recommendation in this research is that teacher could try using cooperative learning model NHT type in other learning materials by developing more behavior and students character.
