Abstract
ABSTRAK Kecanduan game online menjadikan remaja bergantung pada game online yang dapat memicu terjadinya kecenderungan perilaku agresif jika ketidaksesuaian terjadi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan kecanduan game online dengan kecenderungan perilaku agresif serta implikasi bagi bimbingan dan konseling pribadi. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling yang menghasilkan sampel 362 siswa SMPN 26 Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) kecanduan game online siswa secara umum berada kategori tolerance, (2) kecenderungan perilaku agresif secara umum berada pada kategori escalation, (3) kecanduan game online berhubungan secara signifikan dengan kecenderungan perilaku agresif. Hasil ini menunjukan tingkat korelasi yang cukup kuat dengan arah yang positif. Hasil menunjukan semakin siswa tidak kecanduan game online maka kecenderungan perilaku agresifnya tidak akan meningkat, sebaliknya semakin kecanduan game online maka kecenderungan perilaku agresif akan meningkat. Hasil penelitian juga berdasarkan pengelompokan pengguna game online berdasarkan jenis game online, operating system, device, durasi penggunaan, tempat bermain, biaya yang dikeluarkan, kebiasaan bermain, dan temuan kualitatif tentang keuntungan, kerugian, dan alasan bermain game online. Implikasi bagi bimbingan dan konseling pribadi diberikan dalam layanan preventif dan kuratif guna mereduksi permasalahan yang terjadi. Kata Kunci: Kecanduan game online, kecenderungan perilaku agresif, bimbingan dan konseling ABSTRACT Online game addiction makes adolescent dependent on online games which can trigger aggressive behavior tendencies if there is discrepancy. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship between online game addiction with aggressive behavior tendencies and the implications for personal guidance and counseling. This study used a quantitative approach with correlational methods. Data collection was obtained through a purposive sampling technique and the result are 362 students at SMPN 26 Bandung. The results of this study show 1) online game addiction among students is generally in the tolerance category, 2) aggressive behavior tendencies are generally in the escalation category, 3) online game addiction is significantly related to aggressive behavior tendencies. These results show a high degree of correlation with quite strong in a positive direction. The results show that the more students are not addicted to online games, the tendency for aggressive behavior will not increase. Otherwise, the more addicted to online games, the tendency for aggressive behavior will increase. The results of this study based on grouping online game users by the type of online game, operating system, device, duration of use, place to play, costs, playing habits, and qualitative findings about advantages, disadvantages, and reasons for playing online games. Implications for personal guidance and counseling are given in preventive and curative services to reduce the problems.
