Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa SMP masih dalam kategori rendah. Sementara kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) Untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP yang memperoleh pembelajaran model Problem-Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model konvensional; 2) Untuk mengetahui bagaimana respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem-Based Learning. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah model kuasi eksperimen dan populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023 di salah satu SMP Negeri yang berada di Kota Bandung dengan sampel sebanyak dua kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrument tes dan instrument non tes (berupa angket dan lembar observasi). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; 1) Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah antara siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem-Based Learning tidak lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran model konvensional; 2) Seluruh siswa menunjukkan sikap positif terhadap model Problem-Based Learning. The problem-solving ability of junior high school students is still in the low category. While students' mathematical problem solving ability is one of the abilities that students must have. The objectives of this study are to: 1) To determine whether the mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students who obtain Problem-Based Learning model learning is higher than students who obtain conventional model learning; 2) To find out how students respond to learning using the Problem-Based Learning method. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method and the population of this study is all grade VIII students in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year in one of the public junior high schools in Bandung City with a sample of two classes. The instruments used are test instruments and non-test instruments (in the form of angket and observation sheets). The results showed that; 1) The increase in problem-solving ability among students who received learning using the Problem-Based Learning model was not higher than students who received conventional model learning; 2) All students show a positive attitude towards the Problem-Based Learning model.
