Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah penerapan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat. Model pembelajaran merupakan salah satu unsur penting dalam pembelajaran. Memilih model pembelajaran yang tepat dapat menghasilkan hasil belajar yang baik. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan terdapat sebuah masalah, yaitu rendahnya hasil belajar. Oleh sebab itu peneliti melakukan penerapan model Problem Based Learning dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas guru pada pembelajaran IPS dengan penerapan model Problem Based Learning, untuk mengetahui aktivitas peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS dengan penerapan model Problem Based Learning, serta untuk mengetahui peningkatan (perbaikan) hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS dengan penerapan model Problem Based Learning. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan desain Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Penelitian ini memiliki 2 siklus, dengan instrumen penelitian berupa tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan Hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model Problem Based Learning dapat memperbaiki aktivitas guru, aktivitas peserta didik, serta hasil belajar peserta didik. Dengan kata lain penerapan model Problem Based Learning dapat memperbaiki proses pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Model Problem Based Learning, hasil belajar, aktivitas guru, aktivitas peserta didik. ----- Social studies learning in one of the elementary schools in Bekasi is allegedly not carried out optimally, this can be seen from the low results of student learning. One of the contributing factors is the application of inappropriate learning models. The learning model is one of the important elements in learning. Choosing the right learning model can produce good learning outcomes. Based on the observations that have been made, there is a problem, namely low learning outcomes. Therefore, researchers apply the Problem Based Learning model with the aim of knowing teacher activities in social studies learning with the application of the Problem Based Learning model, to find out student activities in social studies learning with the application of the Problem Based Learning model, and to determine the improvement (improvement) of student learning outcomes in social studies learning with the application of the Problem Based Learning model. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research with Kemmis and Mc Taggart designs. This study has 2 cycles, with research instrument in the form of test, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning model can improve teacher activities, student activities, and student learning outcomes. In other words, the application of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process.
