%X As one of the television programs, soap operas or television films "Suara Hati Istri" are broadcasts that are well known to the general public. The stories that are mostly told are cases of extramarital affairs that involve a third-person character, the theme of this story has the potential to influence the audience's perception of gender. The purpose of this study, among other things, is to analyze the role of the third person in the FTV "Suara Hati Istri" from the perception of the audience, to describe the storyline of the FTV "Suara Hati Istri" which tells of cases of infidelity, third person depictions, and the perceptions of the viewers of the FTV "Suara Hati Istri" regarding third person characters. This study uses a qualitative approach with the method of critical discourse analysis (CDA). Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation studies. The findings in this study are: (1) there is a negative stigma from the community towards third person figures because they are considered as disturbing the harmony of other people's households; (2) a uniform storyline, namely at the beginning of the story when a man who is materially well-off does not feel satisfied by his wife, so he looks for another woman, until the end of the story, when the first wife chooses a divorce; (3) depiction of the third person as an antagonist, a complement to the husband's needs, a rival in household competition, and ends with bad luck; and (4) the audience's perception of the third person, among others, provokes emotion, is inspired by real life, as a means of self-reflection, and influences the image of women in society.
