"Some conclusions are drawn from the research related to aspects assessed, \r\nassessment techniques used, and reasons for choosing assessment techniques. \r\nThey are as follows. \r\nIn terms of aspects assessed, linguistics aspects mostly assessed in \r\ntraditional tests, oral test, take-home tasks, and portfolio. Compared to linguistics \r\naspects, non-linguistics aspects were assessed through observation. The traditional \r\ntests were mainly used as assessment technique because of their practicality. In \r\norder to get a reliable picture of learners' ability, oral tests, take home tasks, \r\nobservation and portfolio have been considered together with traditional tests. \r\nAssessment techniques used and aspects assessed conducted by the teachers in \r\ntheir classes seemed varied from another. \r\nCHAPTERV \r\nCONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS \r\nAspects assessed and assessment techniques used, however, were not \r\nample in gaining information about students' progress and achievement. It seemed \r\nthat the teachers have inadequate knowledge and ability to implement assessment \r\ntechniques in their classroom. Prevailed by a mismatch was found. The teachers' \r\nbeliefs about assessment techniques but their beliefs are not same as what \r\nassessment techniques in practices are. Hence, the teacher's beliefs and \r\n52 \r\nknowledge impact on the assessment techniques used in practice. The teachers can \r\noptimize the assessment through attending seminar or training. \r\nHowever, it seemed the teachers do not have access to achieve information \r\ndealing with any assessment they are expected to implement. As evidenced by \r\ntraining or seminar related to assessment is rarely conducted. Hence, training or \r\nseminar about assessing young learners is required to be held."^^ .
