Halimah 5978631 abstract: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran sastra yang tidak mendapatkan perhatian dan rendahnya minat baca siswa terhadap karya sastra, khususnya teks cerita pendek. Peneliti mencoba menerapkan strategi REAP (read, encode, annotate, ponder) dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman teks cerita pendek. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan pengaruh strategi REAP (read, encode, annotate, ponder) dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman teks cerita pendek. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Pengambilan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu yang artinya peneliti menentukan sendiri sampel yang akan diambil karena adanya pertimbangan untuk memilih kelas dengan peserta didik yang memiliki kemampuan homogen. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil tes kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks cerita pendek. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh dari penerapan strategi REAP (read, encode, annotate, ponder). Rata-rata nilai siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan, terutama pada kelas eksperimen. Rata-rata nilai pretest di kelas eksperimen 53 meningkat menjadi 70 dan rata-rata nilai pretest dikelas kontrol meningkat menjadi 64. Hasil analisis data tes dan nontes di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol membuktikan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Perbedaan yang signifikan dari hasil analisis data tes ditunjukkan melalui uji hipotesis dengan hasil perhitungan 0.032<0.05. Jika Sig < 0.05, maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh dari penerapan strategi REAP (read, encode, annotate, ponder) dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman teks cerpen pada siswa kelas XI SMA Pasundan 1 Bandung. The researcher tried to apply the REAP strategy (read, encode, annotate, ponder) in learning to read and understand short story texts. The purpose of this study was to prove the effect of the REAP strategy (read, encode, annotate, ponder) in learning to read and understand short story texts. The method used is a quasi-experimental research design with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampling with certain considerations, which means the researcher determines the sample to be taken by himself because of the consideration to choose a class with students who have homogeneous abilities. The data obtained are in the form of test results of reading comprehension skills of short story texts. The research findings indicate the effect of implementing the REAP strategy (read, encode, annotate, ponder). The average score of students experienced a significant increase, especially in the experimental class. The average pretest score in the experimental class 53 increased to 70 and the average pretest score in the control class increased to 64. The results of the analysis of test and non-test data in the experimental class and control class proved that there was a significant difference. A significant difference from the results of the test data analysis was shown through hypothesis testing with a calculation result of 0.032 <0.05. If Sig < 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is an influence from the application of the REAP strategy (read, encode, annotate, ponder) in learning to read and understand short story texts in class XI SMA Pasundan 1 Bandung.
