Kebanyakan siswa memiliki hambatan dalam pembelajaran matematika terutama dalam menerjemahkan soal cerita menjadi bahasa matematika atau dengan kata lain siswa belum mampu dalam membuat argumen matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penalaran matematis siswa melalui penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Eduction (RME). Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis & Taggart. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kota Bandung, semester genap tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan berdasarkan prinsip RME, yaitu: Guided Reinvention, Didactical Phonemenology, Emergent Models. Terdapat peningkatan penalaran matematis siswa setelah pendekatan RME. Pada siklus I perolehan nilai rata-rata siswa 67,71 dengan presentase ketuntasan belajar 50%, dan meningkat pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata siswa 80,21 dengan presentase 83%. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dapat meningkatkan penalaran matematis siswa. ;---This research is motivated by the students who had problem in mathematical reasoning. Most students had problem in learning mathematics especially in making mathematical arguments. They also couldn’t give reason why they used the method when they tried to solving a problem. This study aims to determine the improvement of student’s mathematical reasoning through the application of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) that adapts Kemmis & Taggart model. Then this research is done with several stages. The stages are planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This study was conducted in two cycles. Subject of this study were the fourth graders in one of primary schools in Bandung, the second semester 2016/2017 academic year. The process of learning implementation is done based on the principle of RME, namely: Guided Reinvention, Didactical Phonemenology, Emergent Models. There is an improvement in students' mathematical reasoning after the application of RME approach. In cycle I, the average score of students is 67,71 and 50% percentage of mastery learning, and increased in cycle II with the average student 80.21 and 83% percentage of mastery learning.
