Saepul Anwar N2 - Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Undang-Undang Sisdiknas (Sistem Pendidikan Nasional) 2003 (UU RI No. 20 Tahun 2003) yang terdapat dalam BAB XI tentang Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan pasal 39 sampai dengan pasal 44. Semua Guru, termasuk Guru PAI, dituntut harus memiliki kualifikasi akademik dan kompetensi sebagai agen pembelajaran, sehat jasmani dan rohani, serta memiliki kemampuan untuk mewujudkan tujuan pendidikan nasional yang tercantum di dalam Bab VI Standar Pendidikan dan tenaga kependidikan pasal 28 ayat (1). Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini antara lain : Bagaimana penguasaan teori tajw?d di kalangan mahasiswa prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI, bagaimana penguasaan praktek tajw?d di kalangan mahasiswa prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI, bagaimana perbandingan penguasaan teori dan praktek tajw?d pada masing-masing angkatan di kalangan mahasiswa prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI, apakah latar belakang mahasiswa Prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI Angkatan 2012-2014 mempengaruhi kemampuan pemahaman teori dan praktek tajw?d. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran atau realitas penguasaan teori dan praktek tajw?d di kalangan mahasiaswa/mahasiswi prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI angkatan 2012-2014 serta adakah yang mempengaruhi realitas tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pertimbangan penggunaan metode ini adalah untuk mengungkap realitas penguasaan teori dan praktek tajw?d di kalangan mahasiswa/mahasiswi prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI. Dalam pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran angket dan tes kepada 148 responden yaitu mahasiswa/mahasiswi Prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI angkatan 2012-2014 yang menjadi sampel penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh gambaran atau realitas bahwa penguasaan teori dan praktek tajw?d di kalangan mahasiswa/mahasiswi Prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI angkatan 2012-2014 ini memang sepenuhnya belum menguasai. Hal ini ditandai dengan adanya beberapa variabel teori tajw?d yang belum mereka ketahui seperti sifat ?ur?f, bacaan musyk?l?t dan tanda wakaf. Selain itu, dalam praktek tajw?d, peneliti menggunakan alat ukur dengan tes membaca ``Al-Qur`?n dan hasilnya mereka belum benar-benar mencapai pada tingkat fasih atau pun ta?s?n. Faktor yang mempengaruhi hal tersebut bisa dikatakan karena latar belakang mahasiswa/mahasiswi prodi IPAI FPIPS UPI ini mayoritas sebelumnya tidak memiliki latar belakang keagamaan (Pesantren). The background to the research is the Law of National Education System of 2003 (the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 20 of 2003) contained in CHAPTER XI concerning Teachers and Education Personnel, articles 39 to 44. All teachers of Islamic education arerequired to have academic qualifications and competences as agent of learning, be healthy physically and spiritually, and have the abilities to realize the national education goals as contained in Chapter VI concerning Standards of Education and Education Personnel, article 28 paragraph (1). The problems raised in this research are: How is the mastery of tajw?d theory among students of Islamic Education (IPAI)Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences Education, Indonesia University of Education (FPIPS, UPI), how is the mastery of tajw?d practice among students of IPAI study program, FPIPS, UPI; how is the mastery of tajw?d theory and practice among students of IPAI study program, FPIPS, UPI compared for each class; and do the backgrounds of students of IPAI study program, FPIPS, UPI for the classesof 2012-2014 influence their understanding of tajw?d theory and practice. The research has the aim of finding about the reality of theory and practice mastery of tajw?d among students of IPAI Study Program, FPIPS, UPI, for the classesof 2012-2014 as well as the factors that affect the mastery. It adopted descriptive method with quantitative approach. The use of the method was based on the aim of discovering the reality of tajw?d theory and practice mastery among students of IPAI Study Program, FPIPS, UPI. To collect data, questionnaires and tests were distributed to as many as 148 respondents consisting of students of IPAI Study Program, FPIPS, UPI, from the classesof 2012-2014 who became the research sample. Based on research outcomes, it is found that in reality the majority of students of IPAI Study Program, FPIPS, UPI, classesof 2012-2014 have not fully mastered tajw?d theory and practice. The finding is marked by the students? lack of knowledge about several variables of tajw?d theory, such as the properties of letters, musyk?lat reading, and wakaf markers. In addition, from the test of reading `Al-Qur`?n, it is found that the majority have not reached the level of being articulate or tahs?n. Finally, the comparison of tajw?d theory and practice mastery reveals differences among classes. However, the backgrounds of the students of IPAI Study Program, FPIPS, UPI, from the classes of 2012-2014 did not influence their mastery of tajw?d theory and practice.
