Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan perilaku minum air putih dengan status hidrasi pada siswa SMPN 4 Sumedang. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan analitik korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMPN 4 Sumedang sebanyak 1.074 siswa, dengan sampel 270 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi kuesioner pengetahuan, formulir food/fluid recall 1x24 jam, dan penilaian warna urine menggunakan PURI. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman’s rho dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki pengetahuan rendah (85.9%), konsumsi air putih tidak adekuat (52.2%), serta status hidrasi didominasi oleh dehidrasi ringan (56.7%). Tidak ditemukan hubungan signifikan antara pengetahuan dan status hidrasi (p=0,988), namun terdapat hubungan signifikan antara konsumsi air putih dan status hidrasi (p<0,001). Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa perilaku konsumsi air putih lebih berpengaruh langsung terhadap status hidrasi dibandingkan pengetahuan. Penelitian merekomendasikan intervensi sekolah melalui edukasi dan penyediaan fasilitas air minum. Hydration status plays a crucial role in maintaining adolescents’ physical health and learning performance, yet it is often neglected due to limited hydration knowledge and inadequate water intake behaviors. This study aimed to examine the relationship between hydration knowledge and drinking behavior with hydration status among students at SMPN 4 Sumedang. A quantitative with analytical correlational design approach was used. The study population consisted of 1,074 students, and a sample of 270 respondents was selected using cluster random sampling. Research instruments included a hydration knowledge questionnaire, a 24-hour food/fluid recall form, and urine color assessment using PURI. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s rho test with a 0.05 significance level. The results showed that most students had low hydration knowledge (85.9%), inadequate water intake (52.2%), and hydration status dominated by mild dehydration (56.7%). There was no significant relationship between hydration knowledge and hydration status (p=0.988), while a significant relationship was found between water intake and hydration status (p<0.001). These findings indicate that drinking behavior has a more direct influence on hydration status than knowledge alone.
