Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menguji perbedaan hubungan dan tingkat kedua variabel tersebut antara mahasiswa rumpun Sains dan Teknologi (Saintek) dan Sosial dan Humaniora (Soshum). Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif cross-sectional ini melibatkan 327 mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang terdiri dari 164 mahasiswa Saintek dan 163 mahasiswa Soshum, diambil menggunakan teknik incidental sampling. Efikasi diri akademik diukur menggunakan skala 25 item (7 Skala Likert) dan Perilaku kompetitif diukur menggunakan skala 22 item (5 Skala Likert). Data dianalisis dengan regresi linear sederhana untuk menguji kontribusi dan uji-t independen untuk menguji perbedaan antar kelompok. Pada penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa efikasi diri akademik memberikan kontribusi positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku kompetitif, dengan koefisien determinasi R² = 0,227 dan nilai signifikansi p < 0,001 (p < 0.05). Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada efikasi diri akademik dan perilaku kompetitif antara kedua rumpun (p < 0.05), di mana mahasiswa Saintek cenderung memiliki tingkat efikasi diri akademik dan perilaku kompetitif yang lebih tinggi. Efikasi diri akademik merupakan prediktor penting dalam membentuk kesiapan psikologis mahasiswa memasuki dunia kerja melalui peningkatan perilaku kompetitif. Perbedaan tingkat perilaku kompetitif antar rumpun menyiratkan perlunya intervensi karir dan pengembangan diri yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan spesifik bidang studi. This study examines the contribution of academic self-efficacy to competitive behavior among students as a response to the pressures and demands of the school to work transition period. Furthermore, this study also examines the differences in the relationship and levels of these two variables between students in the Science and Technology (Saintek) and Social Sciences and Humanities (Soshum) fields. Method: This quantitative cross-sectional study involved 327 final-year students, consisting of 164 science and technologi students and 163 science and humanities students, selected using incidental sampling technique. Academic self-efficacy was measured using a 25-item scale (7-point Likert scale), and Competitive Behavior was measured using a 22-item scale (5-point Likert scale). Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to test the contribution and independent t-test to test differences between groups. In this study, it was found that academic self-efficacy provides a positive and significant contribution to competitive behavior, with a coefficient of determination R² = 0.227 and significance value p < 0.001 (p < 0.05). The t-test results show that there is a significant difference in academic self-efficacy and competitive behavior between the two fields (p < 0.05), where science and technology students tend to have higher levels of academic self-efficacy and competitive behavior. Academic self-efficacy is an important predictor in shaping students' psychological readiness to enter the workforce through increased competitive behavior.
