Indonesia faces various challenges in its efforts to improve the quality of education at all levels. The 2018 PISA report released by the OECD shows that Indonesian students' scores are still below the average of member countries. One of the factors hindering the improvement of education quality is the mismatch between student placement and their individual potential. This study aims to analyze the predictive validity of APM (Advanced Progressive Matrices), IST (Intelligence Structure Test), EPPS (Edwards Personal Preference Schedule), and IMP (Job Interest Inventory) test scores on economics subject grades, and to formulate an objective and accountable student placement management formula at the high school level. The study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design of the predicting type, involving a sample of 1,622 high school students in West Java who have taken the APM, IST, EPPS, and IMP assessments and have Economics report card grades. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results showed that APM scores, certain IST subtests (Gemeinsamkeiten, Satzergänzung, Merkaufgaben), EPPS dimensions (Consistent, Endurance, Affiliation, Deference, Exhibition), and IMP aspects (Computational and Mechanical) significantly predicted Economics grades. The combination of these variables explains 20.4% of the variation in Economics scores. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating psychological assessments and interests into the student placement process. The study recommends the implementation of data-based formulas to support more effective and targeted educational decision making.
