Child health services subject: RT Nursing description: ABSTRAK PENGARUH PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP KADER MELALUI EDUKASI GIZI TERHADAP UPAYA PENCEGAHAN STUNTING PADA ANAK DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS BABAKAN SARI Jelitha Puspakencana NIM 2106774 e-mail: jelithapuspa@gmail.com Pendahuluan: Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang berdampak pada pertumbuhan fisik, perkembangan kognitif, dan kualitas sumber daya manusia, terutama pada periode 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (HPK). Pencegahan stunting memerlukan intervensi gizi yang optimal dan peran aktif kader posyandu dalam edukasi gizi serta deteksi dini. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh peningkatan kapasitas kader melalui edukasi gizi terhadap upaya pencegahan stunting pada anak. Metode: Menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen dengan pendekatan pretest-posttest control group. Subjek terdiri dari 60 kader posyandu yang dibagi dua menjadi kelompok intervensi dan control, masing-masing 30 kader. Intervensi berupa edukasi gizi berbasis leaflet. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner pengetahuan dan sikap. Hasil dan pembahasan: Berdasarkan hasil uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test pada variabel pengetahuan, diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0.000. Pada variabel sikap, diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.001. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pengetahuan dan sikap kader sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Namun hasil uji Mann-Whitney U menunjukkan bahwa pada pre-test dan post-test pengetahuan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p=0,306 dan p=0,069 > 0,05). Pada variabel sikap, pre-test menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p=0,008 < 0,05), sedangkan pada post-test tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan (p=0,665 > 0,05), intervensi edukasi gizi menunjukkan kecenderungan meningkatkan pengetahuan, tetapi tidak signifikan. Kesimpulan: Peningkatan kapasitas kader melalui edukasi gizi berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan kader dalam melakukan pencegahan stunting pada anak. Disarankan agar program dilakukan secara rutin dan terstruktur untuk memperkuat peran kader posyandu. Preventing stunting requires optimal nutritional interventions and the active role of posyandu cadres in providing nutrition education and early detection. Objective: To examine the effect of strengthening cadre capacity through nutrition education on efforts to prevent stunting in children. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group approach. The subjects consisted of 60 posyandu cadres, divided into intervention and control groups, with 30 cadres in each group. The intervention involved leaflet-based nutrition education. Data were collected using knowledge and attitude questionnaires. Results and Discussion: The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a significance value of 0.000 for knowledge and 0.001 for attitude, indicating a significant effect between cadres’ knowledge and attitudes before and after the intervention. However, the Mann-Whitney U test revealed no significant difference in knowledge at both pre-test and post-test (p=0.306 and p=0.069 > 0.05). For the attitude variable, the pre-test indicated a significant difference (p=0.008 < 0.05), while the post-test showed no significant difference (p=0.665 > 0.05). Thus, nutrition education interventions tended to improve knowledge but not significantly. Conclusion: Strengthening cadre capacity through nutrition education positively influences cadres’ ability to prevent stunting in children. It is recommended that such programs be conducted regularly and in a structured manner to reinforce the role of posyandu cadres.
