N2  - Penelitian dilatar belakangi oleh fenomena ketidakhadiran ayah dalam perkembangan kehidupan anak yang berpengaruh pada penyesuaian diri anak di sekolah, hal tersebut terjadi karena anak yang tumbuh tanpa adanya peran ayah akan mengalami masalah dalam hal identitas gender, performa akademik, penyesuaian sosial, dan juga kontrol terhadap agresi. Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi Jawa Barat menjelaskan pada tahun 2023 jumlah perceraian di Indonesia mencapai 463.654 kasus. Jawa Barat merupakan provinsi dengan kasus perceraian tertinggi di Indonesia yang mencapai 102.280 kasus. Melihat fenomena yang terjadi pada penelitian terdahulu ketidakhadiran figur ayah dalam perkembangan anak sangatlah berpengaruh. Fenomena nyata terjadi di SMAN 1 Soreang mengenai ketidakhadiran figur ayah. Data sekolah menunjukkan 42% siswa di SMAN 1 Soreang terindikasi mengalami fatherless. Tujuan penelitian yaitu memperoleh data pengaruh fatherless pada penyesuaian diri dan menganalisis pengaruh fatherless pada penyesuaian diri siswa di lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 335 siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Soreang Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh fatherless siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Soreang memberi pengaruh sebesar 6,6% terhadap Penyesuaian diri. Sedangkan sisanya sebesar 93,4% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan dan konseling mengenai meningkatkan kesadaran tentang pentingnya penyesuaian diri siswa fatherless.  
 
The background of the research is the phenomenon of the absence of a father in the development of a child's life which affects the child's adjustment at school, this happens because children who grow up without the role of a father will experience problems in terms of gender identity, academic performance, social adjustment, and also control over aggression. The Central Statistics Agency of West Java Province explained that in 2023 the number of divorces in Indonesia reached 463,654 cases. West Java is the province with the highest divorce cases in Indonesia, reaching 102,280 cases. Seeing the phenomenon that occurred in previous studies, the absence of a father figure in child development is very influential. A real phenomenon occurred at SMAN 1 Soreang regarding the absence of a father figure. School data shows that 42% of students at SMAN 1 Soreang are indicated to be fatherless. The purpose of the study was to obtain data on the influence of fatherlessness on adjustment and to analyze the influence of fatherlessness on students' adjustment in the school environment. The study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The research participants were 335 grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Soreang in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The findings of the study indicate that the influence of fatherless students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Soreang has an influence of 6.6% on self-adjustment. While the remaining 93.4% is influenced by other variables that were not studied. The results of this study can be used as a reference in the implementation of guidance and counseling services regarding increasing awareness of the importance of selfadjustment of fatherless students.
