Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka, dengan proses penciptaan karya mengikuti metode P3 (Pra Pemotretan, Produksi, Pasca Pemotretan) dan penerapan teori EDFAT (Entire, Detail, Frame, Angle, Time) untuk menjaga keaslian visual. Hasilnya adalah karya fotografi dokumenter yang menampilkan suasana kampung Giri Harja, aktivitas perajin, dinamika pertunjukan, dan potret tokoh wayang, yang dikemas dalam buku album fotografi untuk memberikan gambaran umum pelestarian wayang golek secara informatif dan menarik . Kesimpulannya, fotografi dokumenter terbukti efektif sebagai media konservasi budaya tradisional, meskipun keterbatasn sumber daya menjadi hambatan yang perlu diantisipasi pada penelitian selanjutnya melalui kolaborasi dengan desainer grafis atau penerbit. This research addresses the problem of the threat of globalization and the lack of appreciation of the Giri Harja puppet show, aiming to describe and visualize this art in an interesting and informative way through documentary photography. Using descriptive qualitative methods, data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies, with the creation process following the P3 method (Pre-Shooting, Production, Post-Shooting) and the application of the EDFAT theory (Entire, Detail, Frame, Angle, Time) to maintain visual authenticity. The result is a documentary photography work that displays the atmosphere of the Giri Harja village, the activities of the craftsmen, the dynamics of the performance, and portraits of the puppet characters, which are packaged in a photography album book to provide an overview of the preservation of the puppet show in an informative and interesting way.
