Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam mendukung kebugaran jasmani sebagai sarana pembentukan karakter di sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas kepala sekolah, guru kelas V, guru PJOK, dan siswa kelas V dari lima sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Cimanggung. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui teknik thematic analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah menerapkan gaya kepemimpinan partisipatif dan kolaboratif. Hal ini tercermin dari keterlibatan langsung kepala sekolah dalam kegiatan senam bersama, pengelolaan sumber daya sekolah termasuk dana BOS dan sarana olahraga, serta pendelegasian tugas kepada guru PJOK dan guru kelas. Sinergi antara kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa menjadikan kegiatan kebugaran jasmani tidak hanya meningkatkan kesehatan fisik, tetapi juga membentuk karakter positif seperti disiplin, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan religiusitas. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan partisipatif berbasis kolaborasi sangat relevan dalam mendukung kebugaran jasmani sebagai bagian integral dari penguatan karakter di sekolah dasar. Principals play a strategic role in creating a school climate that supports the character development of teachers and students. This study aims to describe the leadership style of principals in supporting physical fitness as a means of character formation in elementary schools. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects consisted of principals, fifth-grade teachers, physical education teachers, and fifth-grade students from five elementary schools in Cimanggung District. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis thecnique. The results showed that principals implemented participatory and collaborative leadership styles. This was reflected in their direct involvement in group exercise activities, the management of school resources including BOS funds and sports facilities, as well as the delegation of tasks to PE and classroom teachers. The synergy among principals, teachers, and students ensured that physical fitness activities not only improved physical health but also fostered positive character traits such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and religiosity. This study concludes that participatory and collaborative leadership styles are highly relevant in supporting physical fitness as an integral part of character strengthening in elementary schools.
