Widya Novita Sari (2025). Bimbingan Karier Berbasis Teori Karier Kognitif sosial untuk Mengembangkan Efikasi Diri Karier Siswa SMP di Kota Bukittingi Kelas VIII. Dibimbing oleh: Dr. Mamat Supriatna, M. Pd. (Pembimbing I) dan Dr. Nandang Budiman, M. Si. (Pembimbing II).

Efikasi diri karier merupakan keyakinan peserta didik terhadap kemampuan dirinya untuk merencanakan, mengambil keputusan, dan melaksanakan tindakan yang diperlukan guna mencapai tujuan karir yang diinginkan meliputi aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bimbingan karier berbasis teori karier kognitif sosial untuk mengembangkan efikasi diri karier siswa SMP di Kota Bukittingi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dan dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent pre-test and post-test group design untuk membandingkan kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dalam melaksanakan penelitian. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 1416 peserta didik kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 8 sekolah dan mengambil sampel sebanyak peserta didik serta dibagi ke dalam 2 kelompok penelitian yaitu kelompok eksperimen berjumlah 33 peserta didik dan kelompok kontrol yang berjumlah 29 peserta didik. Adapun pengolahan dan anlisis data instumen dan hasil perlakuan yang digunakan adalah software winstep rasch model for windows dan mengunakan uji Mann-Whitney U Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bimbingan karier berbasis teori karier kognitif sosial memiliki efikasi dengan level medium ditinjau dari meningkatnya efikasi diri karier siswa. Peningkatan dilihat pada perbedaan nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest antra kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol yang signifikan. Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ditujukan untuk guru bimbingan dan konseling di SMP dalam upaya mengembangkan efikasi diri karier siswa.

Career Self-Efficacy is the belief of students in their ability to plan, make decisions, and take necessary actions to achieve their desired career goals, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This study aims to develop a career guidance program based on Social Cognitive Career Theory (TKKS) to enhance the career self-efficacy of junior high school students in Bukittinggi City. A quantitative approach was used with a quasi-experimental method, employing a nonequivalent pre-test and post-test group design to compare the experimental and control groups. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The study involved 1,416 eighth-grade students from eight schools, from which a sample was selected and divided into two groups: 33 students in the experimental group and 29 students in the control group. Data analysis of the instruments and treatment results was conducted using the Winstep Rasch Model for Windows and the Mann-Whitney U Test. The results showed that career guidance based on Social Cognitive Career Theory was effective at a medium level in improving students' career self-efficacy. The improvement was evident from the significant difference in the mean scores of the pre-test and post-test between the experimental and control groups. The study recommends that school counselors implement this guidance approach to support the development of students’ career self-efficacy.
