Nuryanto, S.Pd., M.T.: 5993128 abstract: Tesis ini mengevaluasi respons desain arsitektur dalam menghadapi fenomena desain generik yang mengabaikan keunikan lokal di destinasi berkembang seperti Pulau Liwungan, Pandeglang, Banten. Tujuan utamanya adalah mengidentifikasi karakteristik fisik dan mekanik batang kelapa dalam rangka optimalisasi struktur villa, mengkaji penerapan prinsip-prinsip Arsitektur Tradisional Sunda, dan mengembangkan prototipe desain villa yang berkelanjutan serta beridentitas kuat di Pulau Liwungan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dengan studi kasus tunggal. Pengumpulan data melibatkan studi literatur sistematis, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara mendalam dengan berbagai pemangku kepentingan. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa batang kelapa memiliki potensi signifikan sebagai material struktural utama, dan produk turunannya, seperti daun dan pelepah, sebagai penutup dan insulasi. Prinsip-prinsip Arsitektur Tradisional Sunda, seperti Imah Panggung dan Tri Tangtu di Buana, terintegrasi secara funsional untuk mencapai kenyamanan termal pasif dan ekspresi budaya. Desain prototipe yang dihasilkan menunjukan komitmen yang terukur terhadap pembangunan berkelanjutan, khusunya dalam hal jejak karbon yang minimal. Hal ini telah membuktikan: (1) efesiensi pemenfaatan lahan dengan Koefisien Dasar Bangunan (KDB), serta (2) efesiensi energi termal memalui desain pasif yang responsif iklim. Penelitian ini secara signifikan berkontribusi pada pengembangan model desain inovatif yang menjembatani tradisi dengan inovasi kontemporer. Implikasinya adalah penyediaan referensi esensial bagi arsitektur berkelanjutan di wilayah pesisir tropis, sejalan dengan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDG 8, 11, 12, 13). This thesis evaluates the architectural design response to the phenomenon of generic design that ignores local uniqueness in developing destinations such as Liwungan Island, Pandeglang, Banten. The main objectives are to identify the physical and mechanical characteristics of coconut trunks in order to optimize villa structures, examine the application of the principles of Traditional Sundanese Architecture, and develop a prototype of a sustainable villa design with a strong identity on Liwungan Island. The research method uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with a single case study. Data collection involves a systematic literature review, field observations, and in-depth interviews with various stakeholders. The findings indicate that coconut trunks have significant potential as the main structural material, and their derivative products, such as leaves and fronds, as covering and insulation. The principles of Traditional Sundanese Architecture, such as Imah Panggung and Tri Tangtu in Buana, are functionally integrated to achieve passive thermal comfort and cultural expression. The resulting prototype design demonstrates a measurable commitment to sustainable development, particularly in terms of a minimal carbon footprint. This has proven: (1) land use efficiency with the Basic Building Coefficient (BCC), and (2) thermal energy efficiency through climate-responsive passive design. This research significantly contributes to the development of innovative design models that bridge tradition with contemporary innovation.
