Permasalahan penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya rasa percaya diri yang dimiliki oleh siswa karena merasa takut dinilai oleh orang lain yang membuat mereka enggan mengekspresikan diri secara bebas. Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan mengacu pada teori Montessori Erdkinder dan indikator kepercayaan diri oleh Lauster yang terdiri dari keyakinan kemampuan diri, optimis, objektif, bertanggung jawab, dan rasional dan realistis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yaitu pre- eksperimental dengan desain one-group prestest-posttest, melibatkan sampel sebanyak 15 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji-t (paired sample t-test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada setiap aspek dari indikator kepercayaan diri mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan di atas 100%, dimana dalam aspek keyakinan kemampuan diri pada awalnya memiliki rata-rata sebesar 40% menjadi 87,67%, aspek optimis memiliki rata- rata sebesar 47,33% menjadi 88,67%, aspek objektif memiliki rata-rata 45% menjadi 86,33%, aspek bertanggung jawab memiliki rata-rata 54,67% menjadi 90%, serta aspek rasional dan realistis memiliki rata-rata 45,33% menjadi 91,67%. Berdasarkan uji paired sample t test yang telah dilakukan diketahui bahwa metode Montessori secara signifikan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa, dengan nilai signifikansi uji-t sebesar 0.000 (p < 0.05) dan nilai t-hitung sebesar 14.860. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang berjudul “Penerapan Metode Montessori untuk Meningkatkan Kepercayaan Diri Siswa dalam Kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler Tari di SMAN 5 Bandung”, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Montessori memberikan pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kepercayaan diri siswa. This study aims to describe and analyze the results of applying the Montessori method to improve students' self-confidence in extracurricular dance activities at SMAN 5 Bandung. The research problem is based on the low self-confidence of students because they are afraid of being judged by others, which makes them reluctant to express themselves freely. The teaching method used is based on the Montessori Erdkinder theory and Lauster's self-confidence indicators, which include self-efficacy, optimism, objectivity, responsibility, and rationality and realism. This study employed a quantitative method, specifically a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving a sample of 15 students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques utilized normality tests and paired sample t-tests. The results of the study indicate that each aspect of the self-confidence indicators experienced a significant increase of over 100%, where the aspect of self-efficacy initially had an average of 40% and increased to 87.67%, the aspect of optimism had an average of 47.33% and increased to 88.67%, the aspect of objectivity had an average of 45% and increased to 86.33%, the responsible aspect increased from an average of 54.67% to 90%, and the rational and realistic aspect increased from an average of 45.33% to 91.67%. Based on the paired sample t-test conducted, it was found that the Montessori method significantly increased students' self-confidence, with a t-test significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a t-calculated value of 14.860.
