Rendahnya literasi lingkungan menjadi salah satu penyebab utama kurangnya kepedulian masyarakat terhadap isu ini. Museum sebagai sarana edukasi informal memiliki potensi besar untuk memperkuat pemahaman publik, terutama bila didukung oleh pendekatan yang mampu melibatkan pengalaman inderawi secara menyeluruh. Tugas Akhir ini merancang Museum Biota Indonesia di Kota Bandung dengan pendekatan arsitektur multisensori sebagai upaya untuk menjembatani kebutuhan edukasi dan konservasi melalui pengalaman spasial yang interaktif dan bermakna. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah metode J. C. Jones yang terdiri dari tahapan analisis, sintesis, dan evaluasi. Perancangan dilakukan melalui studi literatur, observasi, analisis studi kasus, serta kajian tapak dan program ruang. Konsep arsitektur multisensori diterapkan melalui aktivasi elemen-elemen visual, auditori, haptik, hingga atmosferik dalam sepuluh zona tematik yang merepresentasikan ekosistem dan klasifikasi makhluk hidup di Indonesia. Penerapan teknologi, pengelolaan pencahayaan, sirkulasi, serta material yang mendukung persepsi inderawi menjadi bagian integral dari rancangan. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan multisensori tidak hanya meningkatkan daya serap informasi, tetapi juga memperkuat kesan emosional dan keterlibatan pengunjung, menjadikannya sebagai strategi arsitektural yang efektif dalam mendukung pendidikan lingkungan dan pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati. Indonesia is one of the world’s most biodiverse countries, yet it also faces a high rate of biodiversity loss. One of the primary causes is low environmental literacy among the public, which leads to a lack of awareness and concern. Museums, as informal educational facilities, hold great potential in bridging this gap—especially when supported by design approaches that stimulate multi-sensory engagement. This final project proposes the design of the Indonesian Biodiversity Museum in Bandung City using a multisensory architectural approach to merge educational and conservation goals through interactive and meaningful spatial experiences. The design process adopts the method developed by J. C. Jones, consisting of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation stages. The design is informed by literature reviews, field observations, case studies, and site and spatial program analysis. Multisensory architecture is applied by activating visual, auditory, haptic, and atmospheric elements across ten thematic zones that represent various Indonesian ecosystems and biological classifications. The use of digital technology, lighting strategies, circulation systems, and material selection all contribute to enhancing sensory perception. The design outcome demonstrates that multisensory architecture not only improves the absorption of information but also strengthens emotional resonance and visitor engagement.
