Salah satu penyebabnya adalah rendahnya minat baca dan kurang menariknya media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikembangkan media pembelajaran yang dapat memotivasi siswa, salah satunya adalah media komik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran komik yang layak dan efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Design and development (D&D) tipe 2, yang meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pembuatan desain, validasi oleh ahli, revisi, dan uji coba lapangan. Media dikembangkan dengan bantuan aplikasi Procreate dan Canva, serta divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ahli media, ahli bahasa, dan guru sebagai praktisi pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media komik layak digunakan berdasarkan hasil validasi dari para ahli dengan nilai kategori sangat baik. Respon siswa dan guru juga menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dalam penggunaan media. Keefektifan media terbukti melalui peningkatan hasil belajar, di mana rata-rata nilai posttest siswa meningkat signifikan dibandingkan nilai pretest. Selain itu, nilai System usability scale (SUS) sebesar 90 menandakan bahwa media ini sangat diterima oleh guru sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, media komik efektif dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman. ----------- Reading comprehension is a crucial skill for elementary school students, yet many still struggle with understanding reading texts. One contributing factor is the lack of reading interest and the use of less engaging learning media. Therefore, it is necessary to develop learning media that can motivate students, such as comic-based learning media. This study aims to develop a feasible and effective comic learning media to improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. This research uses the Design and development (D&D) type 2 method, consisting of planning, design creation, expert validation, revisions, and field testing. The media was developed using Procreate and Canva applications, and validated by subject matter experts, media experts, language experts, and teachers as educational practitioners. The results showed that the comic media is feasible based on expert validation scores, which were rated as excellent. Students and teachers responded positively and enthusiastically toward the use of the media. Its effectiveness was demonstrated by a significant increase in posttest scores compared to pretest results. Furthermore, a System usability scale (SUS) score of 90 indicated excellent acceptance by teachers as a teaching aid.
