Permasalahan penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya apresiasi siswa terhadap seni tradisi, serta kurangnya integrasi seni tradisi dalam pembelajaran seni tari di sekolah. Seni Bangpret sebagai salah satu bentuk seni tradisi dari Rancakalong yang memiliki nilai-nilai, filosofi, dan budaya yang kuat, namun belum banyak dikenal oleh siswa di lingkungan asalnya sendiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru seni budaya, siswa kelas XI-C SMA Negeri Rancakalong, dan narasumber pelaku seni bangpret. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran apresiasi seni tari berbasis seni bangpret dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap sejarah, nilai estetika seni tradisi, dan elemen-elemen yang terdapat pada seni bangpret (Gerak ngibing, musik, dan busana). Selain itu, pembelajaran ini mendorong partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pelestarian budaya, serta menumbuhkan rasa identitas dan kebanggan terhadap warisan seni tradisi daerahnya. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi seni Bangpret ke dalam pembelajaran seni tari merupakan strategi efektif dalam memperkuat pendidikan berbasis kearifan lokal. This study aims to examine the design, process, and outcomes of Bangpret-based dance appreciation learning at SMA Negeri Rancakalong Sumedang. The research problem is motivated by the low appreciation of traditional arts among students, as well as the lack of integration of traditional arts into dance learning at school. Bangpret art is one of the traditional arts from Rancakalong that has strong values, philosophy, and culture, but is not widely known by students in their own environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The research subjects consisted of art and culture teachers, students of grade XI-C SMA Negeri Rancakalong, and bangpret artist resource persons. The results of the study indicate that bangpret-based dance appreciation learning can improve students' understanding of the history, aesthetic value of traditional arts, and the elements contained in bangpret art (ngibing movements, music, and costumes). In addition, this learning encourages active student participation in cultural preservation, as well as fostering a sense of identity and pride in the traditional artistic heritage of their region. These findings confirm that the integration of Bangpret art into dance learning is an effective strategy in strengthening local wisdom-based education.
