"Penelitian ini berjudul “Peranan Dewan Pertimbangan Agung Pada Masa Orde Baru Tahun 1968 – 1998”. Penelitian yang dibuat ini berfokus untuk mengetahui bagaimana struktur organisasi yang dimiliki oleh Dewan Pertimbangan Agung, siapa saja ketua yang pernah memimpin Dewan Pertimbangan Agung, dan bagaimana pertimbangan yang diberikan oleh Dewan Pertimbangan Agung, serta untuk menjawab apakah Dewan Pertimbangan Agung merupakan lembaga yang benar-benar berkontribusi dalam pemerintahan di Masa Orde Baru. Hal ini didasari dengan adanya anggapan bahwa Dewan Pertimbangan Agung merupakan lembaga yang tidak bekerja dengan baik, karena tidak adanya transparansi dalam keputusan yang diberikan kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yang meliputi tahapan heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi, serta menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner dengan ilmu politik. Sumber-sumber yang digunakan adalah sumber tertulis dari Arsip Laporan Pertanggungjawaban Dewan Pertimbangan Agung selama periode 1968 hingga 1998. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, penulis berhasil mengambil beberapa penemuan. Pertama, Dewan Pertimbangan Agung merupakan lembaga tinggi negara yang bertugas untuk memberikan pertimbangan kepada Presiden. Kedua, Dewan Pertimbangan Agung selama Masa Orde Baru dipimpin oleh empat ketua selama 20 tahun. Ketiga, selama Masa Orde Baru, Dewan Pertimbangan Agung telah memberikan 210 pertimbangan kepada Presiden. Penelitian ini dapat membuktikan bahwa fungsi dari Lembaga Dewan Pertimbangan Agung tetap berjalan walaupun tidak terpublikasi kepada masyarakat.\r\n\r\nThis research is entitled \"The Role of the Supreme Advisory Council in the New Order Period of 1968 – 1998\". This research focuses on finding out the organizational structure of the Supreme Advisory Council, who are the chairmen who have led the Supreme Advisory Council, and how the considerations are given by the Supreme Advisory Council, as well as to answer whether the Supreme Advisory Council is an institution that really contributes to the government in the New Order Period. This is based on the assumption that the Supreme Advisory Council is an institution that does not work well, because there is no transparency in the decisions given to the public. This research uses historical research methods that include heuristic, critical, interpretation, and historiographic stages. The sources used are written sources from the Archives of the Accountability Report of the Supreme Advisory Council during the period 1968 to 1998. Based on this research, the author managed to take several findings. First, the Supreme Advisory Council is a high state institution tasked with giving consideration to the President. Second, the Supreme Advisory Council during the New Order Period was led by four chairmen for 20 years. Third, during the New Order Period, the Supreme Advisory Council has given 210 considerations to the President.
