Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami notasi ritmik seperti not penuh, not setengah, not seperempat, not seperdelapan, serta tanda diam (rest), yang diperburuk oleh terbatasnya media pembelajaran interaktif yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Metode yang digunakan adalah Design Based Research (DBR) dengan pendekatan kualitatif, yang terdiri atas empat tahap utama: identifikasi dan analisis masalah, perancangan solusi, implementasi dan evaluasi, serta refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Assemblr Edu mampu meningkatkan pemahaman ritmik siswa melalui visualisasi tiga dimensi yang konkret dan menarik, sehingga membuat pembelajaran lebih interaktif dan memotivasi. Meski terdapat kendala teknis seperti keterbatasan perangkat untuk menjalankan fitur AR dan beberapa eror pada fitur kartu tantangan, secara keseluruhan Assemblr Edu terbukti efektif sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif dalam konteks non-formal seperti ekstrakurikuler. This study aims to describe the utilization of technology-based learning media Assemblr Edu to improve students’ rhythmic reading skills in the extracurricular music activities program at SMA Negeri 1 Lembang. The research was motivated by students’ difficulties in reading rhythmic notation, including whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes, and rests, as well as the limited use of interactive learning media in extracurricular activities. The study employed a qualitative approach using the Design-Based Research (DBR) method, which consists of four main stages: identifying and analyzing problems, designing solutions, implementing and evaluating interventions, and reflecting on the process and outcomes. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that Assemblr Edu enhanced students’ understanding of rhythmic patterns by presenting concrete and engaging three-dimensional visualizations, resulting in a more interactive and motivating learning experience. Although technical challenges were encountered—such as device limitations in supporting augmented reality (AR) features and occasional errors in the challenge card function—these issues were manageable.
