Materi IPA yang bersifat abstrak dan kurang kontekstual sering membuat siswa cepat bosan. Perkembangan teknologi pembelajaran, khususnya media berbasis Augmented Reality (AR), menawarkan peluang untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Salah satu media AR yang potensial adalah aplikasi Assemblr Edu, yang mampu memvisualisasikan konsep IPA secara tiga dimensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan Assemblr Edu terhadap minat belajar IPA siswa kelas VIII SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi-experimental dan desain non-equivalent control group, melibatkan 58 siswa yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket minat belajar dengan empat aspek: rasa senang, perhatian, ketertarikan, dan keterlibatan. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, gain score, dan Mann–Whitney U test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada aspek rasa senang (p = 0.006), ketertarikan (p = 0.016), dan keterlibatan (p = 0.015), sementara aspek perhatian (p = 0.078) tidak signifikan. Rata-rata peringkat kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi pada semua aspek. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media AR seperti Assemblr Edu dapat menjadi alternatif efektif untuk meningkatkan minat belajar IPA melalui pembelajaran yang interaktif dan memotivasi. Low student interest in science subjects has become a challenge for junior high school teachers. The abstract and less contextual nature of science materials often makes students quickly lose interest. The development of educational technology, particularly media based on Augmented Reality (AR), offers opportunities to create more interactive and engaging learning experiences. One potential AR-based medium is the Assemblr Edu application, which is capable of visualizing science concepts in three dimensions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Assemblr Edu on the science learning interest of eighth-grade students at SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design, involving 58 students divided into experimental and control groups through cluster random sampling. The research instrument was a learning interest questionnaire covering four aspects: enjoyment, attention, curiosity, and engagement. Data analysis was conducted using normality test, gain score, and Mann–Whitney U test. The results revealed significant differences in the aspects of enjoyment (p = 0.006), curiosity (p = 0.016), and engagement (p = 0.015), while attention (p = 0.078) was not significant. The experimental group showed higher mean ranks across all aspects.
