Isometric handgrip exercise adalah bentuk latihan statis yang menjadi intervensi nonfarmakologis untuk menurunkan tekanan darah. Tujuan: Mengeksplorasi penerapan isometric handgrip exercise terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus deskriptif dengan melibatkan dua partisipan penderita hipertensi yang berada di wilayah RT. 001 dan RT. 002 Kelurahan Sukawarna. Partisipan melakukan latihan isometric handgrip exercise selama lima hari berturut-turut. Durasi latihan setiap sesi adalah 15–20 menit yang terdiri dari 8 kali kontraksi otot selama 30 detik, dengan jeda istirahat selama 20 detik antar kontraksi dengan intensitas latihan 80% dari Maximum Voluntary Contraction (MVC). Pengukuran tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah latihan setiap hari, serta dilakukan observasi keluhan fisik partisipan. Hasil dan Pembahasan: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pada partisipan Ny. N, tekanan darah menurun dari 143/89 mmHg menjadi 135/80 mmHg, sedangkan pada Ny. R menurun dari 166/93 mmHg menjadi 155/80 mmHg setelah lima hari latihan. Keluhan fisik seperti nyeri dan pegal pada lengan berkurang secara bertahap selama intervensi berlangsung. Kesimpulan: Isometric handgrip exercise efektif sebagai intervensi nonfamakologis serta dapat menjadi pilihan intervensi yang aman dan mudah diterapkan secara mandiri dalam pengelolaan hipertensi. Introduction: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a substantial impact on global health and is a leading cause of mortality worldwide. Isometric handgrip exercise is a form of static exercise considered a non-pharmacological intervention for lowering blood pressure.. Purpose: To explore the implementation of isometric handgrip exercise for lowering blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. Method: A descriptive case study was conducted involving two participants with hypertension living in RT. 001 and RT. 002, Kelurahan Sukawarna. Participants performed isometric handgrip exercise for five consecutive days. Each session lasted 15–20 minutes and consisted of eight muscle contractions, each sustained for 30 seconds, with 20-second rest intervals between contractions, at an intensity of 80% of Maximum Voluntary Contraction (MVC). Systolic and diastolic blood pressure was measured before and after each daily session, and physical discomfort was observed. Result and Discussion: Results showed in participant Mrs. N, blood pressure decreased from 143/89 mmHg to 135/80 mmHg, while in Mrs. R, it decreased from 166/93 mmHg to 155/80 mmHg after five days of exercise. Physical discomfort, such as arm pain and soreness, progressively reduced during the intervention.
