Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya tantangan yang dihadapi santri, seperti padatnya jadwal kegiatan dan keterbatasan waktu belajar mandiri, yang menuntut adanya instrumen monitoring sederhana namun efektif. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh santri kelas VII MTs Persis 50 Lembang, dengan sampel sebanyak 67 responden yang ditentukan melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket berskala Likert yang dikembangkan dari indikator aspek kognitif dan motivasi belajar dalam kerangka SRL. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, meliputi mean, persentase, dan standar deviasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek kognitif SRL santri berada pada kategori baik (mean = 3,9), dengan skor tertinggi pada indikator elaboration (mean = 4,3; kategori sangat baik) dan skor terendah pada indikator self-monitoring (mean = 3,4; kategori cukup). Aspek motivasi belajar berada pada kategori sangat baik (mean = 4,3), dengan skor tertinggi pada motivasi ekstrinsik (mean = 4,7) dan intrinsik (mean = 4,6), serta skor terendah pada ketekunan menghadapi kesulitan (mean = 3,8). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat SRL santri tergolong baik hingga sangat baik, yang berarti santri mampu mengelola proses hafalan secara mandiri dengan cukup efektif, terutama melalui pemaknaan ayat (elaboration) dan dorongan motivasional yang kuat. This study aims to analyze the use of the tahfidz book as a monitoring medium in the process of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) among students, focusing on two main aspects: cognitive strategies and learning motivation in memorizing the Qur’an. The research background is based on the challenges faced by students in achieving memorization targets due to tight schedules and limited self-study time. The study employed a quantitative descriptive approach. The population consisted of seventh grade students of MTs Persis 50 Lembang enrolled in the tahfidz program, with a sample of 67 respondents selected using proportionate stratifiedrandom sampling. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire developed from indicators of cognitive and motivational aspects of SRL. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, percentage, and standard deviation. The findings show that the cognitive aspect of SRL was at a good level (mean = 3.9), with the highest score on elaboration (mean = 4.3; very good) and the lowest on self-monitoring (mean = 3.4; fair). Meanwhile, the motivational aspect was at a very good level (mean = 4.3), with the highest scores on extrinsic motivation (mean = 4.7) and intrinsic motivation (mean = 4.6), and the lowest on persistence when facing difficulties (mean = 3.8). These results indicate that students’ SRL is generally at a good to very good level, reflecting their ability to manage the memorization process independently, especially through meaningful elaboration of verses and strong motivational drive.
