Ardiwinata: 5994332 Joni Rahmat Pramudia: 5994915 abstract: Pelatihan berbasis kompetensi (PBK) di Balai Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BPVP) Bandung Barat dilaksanakan sesuai kerangka SKKNI, namun menghadapi tantangan karena peserta merupakan individu dewasa dengan latar belakang, kebutuhan, dan karakteristik belajar yang beragam. Kondisi ini menegaskan urgensi penerapan prinsip andragogi agar proses belajar lebih relevan, partisipatif, dan bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggali secara mendalam penerapan prinsip andragogi dalam pengelolaan PBK serta dampaknya terhadap partisipasi belajar peserta. Konsep utama yang digunakan adalah teori andragogi Malcolm Knowles dengan enam prinsip pembelajaran orang dewasa. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, adapun teknik pengumpulan datanya berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi, serta diperkuat dengan angket sebagai data pendukung yang disebarkan kepada 31 peserta. Analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif melalui tahapan pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instruktur menerapkan strategi partisipatif, reflektif, dan kontekstual sesuai prinsip andragogi, meskipun belum sepenuhnya sistematis dalam prosedur pelatihan. Temuan lapangan diperkuat oleh hasil angket yang menunjukkan dominasi jawaban “setuju” dan “sangat setuju” pada indikator prinsip andragogi. Indikator keberhasilan terlihat dari meningkatnya partisipasi kognitif, afektif, dan perilaku peserta dalam proses belajar. Rekomendasi diberikan agar BPVP memperkuat perencanaan berbasis kebutuhan peserta secara sistematis, memperluas variasi metode pembelajaran orang dewasa, serta memperkuat mekanisme evaluasi untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang berkelanjutan. Competency Based Training (CBT) at the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP) Bandung Barat is implemented in accordance with the SKKNI framework. However, it faces challenges because the participants are adults with diverse backgrounds, needs, and learning characteristics. This condition highlights the urgency of applying andragogical principles to ensure that the learning process becomes more relevant, participatory, and meaningful. This study aims to explore in depth the application of andragogical principles in the management of CBT and its impact on participants’ learning participation. The main concept employed is Malcolm Knowles’ theory of andragogy with its six principles of adult learning. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study, supported by a questionnaire distributed to 31 participants. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that instructors applied participatory, reflective, and contextual strategies aligned with andragogical principles, although not yet fully systematic in training procedures. The field findings were reinforced by questionnaire results, which showed a predominance of “agree” and “strongly agree” responses on indicators of andragogical principles. Indicators of success were evident in the increased cognitive, affective, and behavioral participation of learners throughout the training process.
