Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil penerapan metode drill and practice dalam proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kompetensi bahasa Jepang di LPK Sundagaiya dari 4 aspek (membaca, menulis, mendengar, dan berbicara). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) proses penerapan metode drill and practice dalam proses pembelajaran di LPK Sundagaiya kota Bandung dimulai dari tahap: pemberian pemahaman, melakukan perbaikan materi, materi latihan singkat dan rutin, tingkat kesulitan latihan sesuai kemampuan peserta, dan pelatihan berfokus pada hal yang bermanfaat bagi peserta, (2) hasil penerapan metode drill and practice dalam proses pembelajaran di LPK Sundagaiya kota Bandung tampak pada peningkatan pada aspek membaca, menulis, mendengar, dan berbicara meskipun aspek berbicara masih mengalami keterbatasan pada kepercayaan diri. (3) faktor pendukung meliputi keunggulan metode, kualifikasi, kompetensi serta pengalaman instruktur, bahan ajar yang sesuai, dan motivasi peserta, faktor penghambat meliputi kesulitan instruktur menyesuaikan tempo, kesulitan peserta memahami materi, tantangan dalam penyelarasan metode dengan target lembaga, hambatan adaptasi peserta terhadap sistem belajar, keterbatasan sarana dan lingkungan sosial, serta belum terintegrasinya metode dalam silabus. Implikasi dari penerapan metode drill and practice menunjukkan bahwa peserta menjadi lebih siap dan percaya diri dalam menggunakan bahasa Jepang meski perlu perhatian lebih pada latihan berbicara dan penanganan kejenuhan belajar. This research is motivated by the increasing number of elderly people in Japan and limited job opportunities in Indonesia, which encourages people's interest in working abroad, especially in Japan. This study aims to describe the process and results of implementing the drill and practice method in the learning process to improve Japanese language competency at LPK Sundagaiya from 4 aspects (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that (1) the process of implementing the drill and practice method in the learning process at LPK Sundagaiya in Bandung city starts from the stages: providing understanding, making improvements to materials, short and routine training materials, the level of difficulty of training according to the abilities of participants, and training focused on things that are beneficial for participants, (2) the results of implementing the drill and practice method in the learning process at LPK Sundagaiya in Bandung city are seen in improvements in the aspects of reading, writing, listening, and speaking although the speaking aspect still experiences limitations in self-confidence. (3) Supporting factors include the superiority of the method, qualifications, competence and experience of the instructor, appropriate teaching materials, and participant motivation. Inhibiting factors include the instructor's difficulty adjusting the tempo, participants' difficulty understanding the material, challenges in aligning the method with the institution's targets, obstacles to participant adaptation to the learning system, limited facilities and social environment, and the method's lack of integration into the syllabus.
