Banyak siswa melakukan gerakan asal-asalan yang tidak sesuai dengan instruksi guru dan hanya sekadar bergerak tanpa memperhatikan manfaat atau tujuan dari senam tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat mindfulness siswa dalam mengikuti senam kebugaran jasmani serta mengidentifikasi hambatan yang mempengaruhi pemahaman mereka terhadap manfaat senam. Metode yang digunakan yaitu mixed method, dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata tingkat mindfulness siswa berada dalam kategori tinggi, sebanyak 74% berada pada kategori tinggi dan 26% berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. Untuk kategori sedang dan rendah masing-masing hanya sebanyak 0%. Meskipun kehadiran siswa dalam senam cukup baik, partisipasi aktif mereka masih tergolong cukup. Hambatan yang ditemukan meliputi kurangnya fokus, motivasi yang tidak menentu, ketidaknyamanan fisik seperti kelelahan dan keram, serta pengaruh lingkungan seperti gangguan dari teman dan kondisi lapangan yang kurang memadai. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya peningkatan motivasi, variasi dalam kegiatan senam, dan peran aktif guru dalam membimbing siswa untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan manfaat dari kegiatan senam kebugaran jasmani. The lack of student awareness in carrying out physical fitness exercises has become a significant issue in schools, as many students perform movements carelessly without following the teacher’s instructions and only move without paying attention to the purpose or benefits of the exercise. Such behavior reduces the effectiveness of the activity, which is designed not only to maintain physical health but also to cultivate discipline, focus, and mindfulness among students. The present study aims to describe the level of student mindfulness during physical fitness exercises and to identify the barriers that may hinder their understanding of the benefits of such activities. A mixed-method approach was applied by combining quantitative and qualitative data collection through observation, interviews, and questionnaires to ensure comprehensive findings. The results reveal that the overall level of student mindfulness was categorized as high, with 74% of students falling into the high category and 26% into the very high category, while none were placed in the medium or low categories. Despite relatively good attendance, students’ active participation was only moderate. Several barriers were identified, including lack of concentration, unstable motivation, physical discomfort such as fatigue and cramps, and environmental factors like peer distractions and inadequate field conditions.
