Penelitian menggunakan metode Design and Development (D&D) dengan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 16 siswa kelas II SDN Baros Mandiri 5. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, angket validasi ahli, dan tes membaca permulaan, dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, angket validasi, serta tes membaca. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Analisis kualitatif menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Analisis kuantitatif dilakukan dengan perhitungan N-Gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan membaca sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media. Media flashcard yang dikembangkan memuat huruf abjad A–Z, digraf, diftong, kluster, serta dilengkapi suku kata, kata, dan kalimat interaktif yang memperkuat ingatan visual dan auditori siswa. Hasil validasi para ahli menunjukkan media berada pada kategori sangat layak, dan perhitungan N-Gain menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan membaca pada kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, flashcard AKSARA dinyatakan efektif dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan peserta didik Fase A sekolah dasar. kata kunci: keterampilan membaca permulaan, siswa fase a sekolah dasar, media pembelajaran flashcard This study aims to develop an instructional medium in the form of AKSARA flashcards to enhance the early reading skills of Phase A elementary school students. The research employed the Design and Development (D&D) method using the ADDIE model, which comprises the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants consisted of 16 second-grade students at SDN Baros Mandiri 5. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and early reading tests, utilizing instruments such as observation sheets, interview guidelines, validation questionnaires, and reading assessments. Data analysis was conducted using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The qualitative data were analyzed following the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The quantitative analysis employed the N-Gain formula to determine the improvement in reading skills before and after the use of the flashcards. The developed media comprise the alphabet A–Z, digraphs, diphthongs, and clusters, complemented with syllables, words, and interactive sentences designed to strengthen students’ visual and auditory memory. Validation results indicated that the media were classified as highly feasible, while the N-Gain analysis demonstrated a high level of improvement in early reading skills. Therefore, the AKSARA flashcards are effective and appropriate to support early reading instruction for Phase A elementary students.
