abstract: Instagram menjadi salah satu media sosial yang paling populer di kalangan remaja, termasuk peserta didik SMP. Penggunaannya tidak hanya sebagai sarana komunikasi dan hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai tempat membentuk identitas diri dan mengikuti berbagai tren. Paparan terhadap konten yang menampilkan gaya hidup ideal di Instagram berpotensi mendorong peserta didik untuk meniru gaya hidup konsumtif tanpa mempertimbangkan kebutuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media sosial Instagram terhadap gaya hidup hedonis peserta didik SMP X. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian korelasional. Penelitian ini melibatkan sebanyak 175 responden sebagai sampel dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dengan skala Likert. Pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai sig. 0,000 < 0,05 dan diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 15,442 > ttabel 1,974, yang artinya variabel Penggunaan Media Sosial Instagram berpengaruh terhadap variabel Gaya Hidup Hedonis.

Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms among teenagers, including junior high school students. Its usage is not only for communication and entertainment, but also as a space to shape self-identity and follow various trends. Exposure to content showcasing an ideal lifestyle on Instagram has the potential to encourage students to adopt a consumptive lifestyle without considering actual needs. This study aims to determine the influence of Instagram social media usage on the hedonistic lifestyle of students at SMP X. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a correlational research method. This study involved 175 respondents as samples using purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Hypothesis testing in this study was conducted using simple linear regression analysis. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-count of 15.442 > t-table 1.974, which indicates that Instagram social media usage has an influence on the hedonistic lifestyle variable.
