Padahal, pengajaran efektif dalam Penjas berperan penting dalam pembentukan karakter dan keberhasilan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pengalaman mengajar, tingkat pendidikan, dan jenis kelamin guru Penjas dengan motivasi dan prestasi akademik siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode survei. Partisipan terdiri dari 194 siswa SMP di Kota Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner Situational Motivation Scale (SIMS) untuk mengukur motivasi, serta nilai rapor Penjas sebagai indikator prestasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji normalitas, korelasi Spearman, dan korelasi berganda. Untuk analisis data menggunakan SPSS v.31.0. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat korelasi negatif yang lemah namun signifikan antara gender guru dan prestasi siswa (r = –0.186; p = 0.010). Namun, tidak ditemukan hubungan signifikan antara lama mengajar maupun jenjang pendidikan guru terhadap prestasi atau motivasi siswa. Motivasi siswa juga tidak berkorelasi signifikan dengan prestasi akademik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga karakteristik guru, hanya gender yang memiliki pengaruh terhadap prestasi siswa, meskipun rendah. Disarankan penelitian lanjutan menggunakan sampel yang lebih luas dan variatif berdasarkan latar belakang sekolah, jenjang pendidikan, dan distribusi gender guru dan siswa. Understanding the influence of PE teachers’ characteristics teaching experience, educational level, and gender on students’ motivation and academic achievement remains limited. In fact, effective teaching in PE plays a crucial role in student development and learning success. This study aims to examine the relationship between teaching experience, educational level, and gender of PE teachers with students’ motivation and academic performance. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using a survey method. A total of 194 junior high school students in Bandung participated. Data collection instruments included the Situational Motivation Scale (SIMS) questionnaire for motivation and PE report card scores for academic achievement. Data were analyzed using normality tests, Spearman correlation, and multiple correlation tests via SPSS v.31.0. The results indicated a weak but statistically significant negative correlation between teacher gender and student achievement (r = –0.186; p = 0.010). However, no significant relationships were found between teaching experience or educational level and either student achievement or motivation. Student motivation also showed no significant correlation with academic performance. These findings suggest that among the three teacher characteristics studied, only gender showed a measurable influence on student performance.
