Kendang set dalam jaipong terdiri dari empat waditra utama, yaitu kendang, kentrung, goong, dan kecrek, yang dimainkan berintegrasi untuk membentuk komposisi ritmis khas. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi konsep instrumentasi serta peran dan fungsi masing-masing waditra dalam membangun struktur ritmis dalam estetika musik jaipong, serta interaksi antar waditra yang menciptakan dinamika permainan yang kompleks dan variatif. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pola tepak kendang, variasi ritmis, motif ritmik, serta tabuhan saling mengisi (interlocking) yang berkembang dalam permainan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis konten, dimulai dengan studi dokumentasi pada data MIDI dari DAW yang kemudian dijabarkan dengan transkripsi ke dalam notasi musik untuk memetakan pola ritmis. Analisis mencakup identifikasi konsep instrumentasi kendang set, peran dan fungsi masing-masing waditra-nya, pola tepak kendang, kalimat ritmis, dan variasi motif pada setiap waditra, serta teknik permainan kendang dan waditra pendukung lainnya dalam tabuhan saling mengisi (interlocking) untuk memahami interaksi antar waditra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan kendang set tidak hanya menghasilkan pola ritmis dinamis, tetapi juga memperlihatkan interaksi kuat antara kendang dan waditra lainnya, yang bersama-sama menciptakan karakter ritmis yang khas dalam jaipong. This study analyzes the performance of the kendang set in the video “Jaipong Kastawa-DAW CAST”, uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘Iwan Gunawan’. The kendang set in Jaipong consists of four main instruments: kendang, kentrung, goong, and kecrek, which are played together to create a unique rhythmic composition. The primary focus of this research is to identify the concepts of instrumentation, as well as the roles and functions of each instrument in constructing the rhythmic structure of Jaipong, and the interactions between the instruments that create the complex and varied dynamics of the performance. Additionally, this study explores the patterns of tepak kendang, rhythmic variations, rhythmic motifs, and interlocking techniques that develop within the performance. The method used is content analysis, beginning with a study of MIDI data from a DAW, which is then transcribed into musical notation to map rhythmic patterns. The analysis includes identifying the concepts of kendang set instrumentation, the roles and functions of each instrument, kendang patterns, rhythmic phrases, and motif variations in each instrument, as well as kendang playing techniques and other supporting instruments in interlocking patterns to understand the interaction between instruments.
