Dalam lingkup anak muda, termasuk di Jepang, gaya komunikasi yang digunakan cenderung dinamis karena menggunakan bahasa santai dan kosakata gaul yang muncul seiring waktu sehingga mungkin akan sulit untuk memahaminya tanpa mengalaminya secara langsung. Penelitian ini akan menganalisis penggunaan gaya komunikasi secara keseluruhan dalam interaksi di kalangan anak-anak muda Jepang untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai bagaimana mereka berinteraksi antar satu sama lain dalam penggunaan gaya komunikasinya, baik secara verbal, non-verbal, dan situasi penggunaannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan instrumen analisis konten drama Jepang, yaitu "3-nen A-gumi" sebanyak sepuluh episode. Hasil yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa keenam gaya komunikasi yaitu the controlling style, the equalitarian style, the structuring style, the dynamic style, the relinqushing style, dan the withdrawal style dalam sebelas aspek analisis percakapan, semuanya digunakan dalam interaksi antar teman. Penggunaan paling banyak adalah the equalitarian dan yang paling sedikit adalah the dynamic style dengan gaya bahasa yang kebanyakan menggunakan ragam non-formal. Di sisi lain, penelitian ini hanya menyoroti gaya komunikasi dalam interaksi sesama anak muda, sehingga untuk memperoleh data yang lebih mendalam dan gambaran yang lebih luas, disarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya memfokuskan analisis pada satu jenis gaya komunikasi tertentu dan melibatkan interaksi dengan lawan bicara dari kelompok usia berbeda. Understanding communication styles is one of the key objectives in language learning. Among young people, including those in Japan, communication styles tend to be dynamic, often characterized by casual language and slang vocabulary that evolves over time. This can make such styles difficult to fully grasp without direct experience. This study analyzes the overall use of communication styles in interactions among Japanese youth, aiming to provide an overview of how they communicate with one another through verbal and non-verbal means, as well as in different situational contexts. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, using content analysis of the Japanese drama "3-nen A-gumi", with a total of ten episodes analyzed. The findings indicate that all six communication styles; the controlling style, the equalitarian style, the structuring style, the dynamic style, the relinqushing style, and the withdrawal style appear in peer interactions, as examined through eleven aspects of conversational analysis. Among these, the equalitarian style was the most frequently used, while the dynamic style appeared the least. The language used was predominantly informal. However, this study focuses solely on peer-to-peer communication among young people.
