Fe-nomena peningkatan penggunaan smartphone (rata-rata 1-4 jam/hari) menimbulkan kek-hawatiran serius terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional anak. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pola penggunaan smartphone, mengidentifikasi dampak positif-negatifnya pada interaksi sosial, dan memahami peran orang tua dalam pengelolaannya. Metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan, melibatkan tujuh orang tua melalui wawancara mendalam dan observa-si. Data dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil menunjukkan penggunaan smartphone berlebihan berdampak negatif signifikan: anak cenderung tantrum, rewel, kesu-litan berinteraksi, keterlambatan bicara, serta menjadi individualistis. Meskipun ada manfaat bahasa dari konten edukatif, dampak negatif seperti kecanduan dan perubahan perilaku lebih dominan. Orang tua sering memberikan smartphone sebagai solusi instan atau karena keterbatasan pengawasan. Kendala utama adalah penegakan batasan waktu dan kontrol kon-ten. Upaya pengelolaan orang tua belum optimal. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya peran orang tua dalam menetapkan batasan, memilih konten sesuai, dan menciptakan kegiatan in-teraksi sosial langsung. Kolaborasi orang tua, pendidik, dan masyarakat krusial untuk men-goptimalkan teknologi demi perkembangan anak usia dini. ----------- This study examines the impact of smartphone use on the development of social interac-tions in early childhood (4-5 years) in Cicalengka District, Bandung Regency. The phenome-non of increasing smartphone use (averaging 1-4 hours/day) raises serious concerns about children's social-emotional development. The study aims to analyze smartphone usage pat-terns, identify their positive and negative impacts on social interactions, and understand the role of parents in managing them. A descriptive qualitative method was used, involving seven parents through in-depth interviews and observations. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that excessive smartphone use has significant negative im-pacts: children tend to have tantrums, fussiness, difficulty interacting, speech delays, and be-come individualistic. Although there are language benefits from educational content, negative impacts such as addiction and behavioral changes are more dominant. Parents often provide smartphones as an instant solution or due to limited supervision. The main obstacle is enforc-ing time limits and content control. Parental management efforts are not optimal. This study emphasizes the importance of parents' role in setting limits, selecting appropriate content, and creating direct social interaction activities.
