Kajian ini mengeksplorasi interaksi antara gempa dan aktivitas vulkanik melalui analisis distribusi ΔCFS pada tiga gunung api aktif di Halmahera gunung Ibu, gunung Dukono, dan gunung Gamalama serta satu gunung pembanding, yaitu gunung Ili Lewotolok di Lembata. Model distribusi ΔCFS dihitung berdasarkan parameter sumber gempa dan dievaluasi terhadap struktur internal masing-masing gunung. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Gunung Ibu mengalami ΔCFS positif sebesar +0.6 hingga +1 bar yang berkorelasi dengan peningkatan aktivitas permukaan, seperti erupsi ringan dan hembusan abu. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa respons vulkanik tidak hanya ditentukan oleh besar kecilnya ΔCFS, tetapi juga oleh karakteristik struktur geologi, seperti kedalaman dapur magma, tipe rekahan, dan efisiensi jalur migrasi fluida. Gunung dengan dapur magma dangkal dan struktur terbuka cenderung lebih responsif terhadap perubahan tekanan, sementara yang memiliki dapur magma dalam dan jalur migrasi sempit lebih tahan terhadap perubahan eksternal. Pendekatan ini memperkuat pentingnya integrasi antara pemodelan seismik dan analisis struktur vulkanik untuk meningkatkan akurasi dalam memprediksi potensi erupsi yang dipicu oleh gempa. Coulomb Failure stress (ΔCFS) generated by tectonic earthquakes are known to influence the stability of magmatic systems, especially when internal volcanic pressure approaches a critical state. This study investigates the interaction between tectonic events and volcanic activity by analyzing ΔCFS distribution across three active volcanoes in Halmahera mount Ibu, mount Dukono, and mount Gamalama and one comparison volcano, Ili Lewotolok in Lembata. ΔCFS models were constructed using earthquake source parameters and evaluated in relation to each volcano’s internal structure. The results show that Mount Ibu and Ili Lewotolok experienced positive ΔCFS values ranging from +0.6 to +1 bar, which correlate with increased surface activity such as minor eruptions and ash emissions. These findings emphasize that volcanic response is not solely determined by the magnitude of stress change but also by geological characteristics such as magma chamber depth, fracture system geometry, and the efficiency of fluid migration paths. Volcanoes with shallow magma sources and open structures tend to be more responsive to stress changes, while those with deeper chambers and restricted migration paths are more resistant.
